"This historic Italianate building is beautiful. The room we stayed was huge with separate sitting room. The staff upgraded to this Presidential room to enjoy while we stayed on slow quiet weekday night. We appreciated the original architecture, updated bathroom and jacuzzi. Only we wished if there was a nice bar and restaurant in it as there used to be back in the days. But there are some restaurants and brewery near by. So overall we really enjoyed. It was a nice surprise to find such one of a...

"Clean. Presentable and great customer service."

"Dirty rooms, dead cokroch in the bathroom, stains on the comforter, disgusting smell in the room, Dirty towels, used bar soap and so many things wrong. My family had horrible time there."

"Clean spacious room. Good breakfast"

"Decent rate and adequate lodging. I'd stay there again except Clinton Iowa has a BO problem."

"Minimal amenities but clean and quiet."

"Nice place not far from the river! Friendly host and safe neighborhood, perfect place to wind down after our work event. The deck was nice to have at nighttime, it was very quiet and peaceful in the neighborhood."

"Wonderful experience hopefully we will be back in the near future."

"This was our second time staying here. Robert is an excellent host and the house is wonderful. We will be back in the future. "

"Beautiful home right on the lake that’s away tucked into the forest. Very secluded which is what me and my party wanted. Dirt road access that felt like an adventure each time we came and went. Surrounded by nature, the mornings and nights always had some creature buzzing and singing which was very peaceful to hear. There are train tracks nearby, and you can hear the trains passing, but it’s never too noisy. The mattress in the bedroom downstairs is very comfortable and I slept so soundly...

"This is the second year staying at the River House for graduation weekends. The house was a perfect spot for family and friends to gather when not at other functions. The kitchen is easy to work in and great for serving meals rather than going out. It is on the banks of the Mississippi River and has great views. Some of our party went fishing. There's a nice fire ring that we used for relaxing and s'mores. We highly recommend it."

"It is an older house with associated discrepancies. Overall good value for the space provided."
