"A very nice hotel. The room was comfortable and we liked the small pool. There is a spa, sauna and gym equipment. There is a roof area with loungers and a tub. Breakfast is very good with a large selection of fruits and cereals and the Italian version of bacon and eggs. I won't comment on the evening meals as Italians eat a bit different to English. Finally the staff, excellent "

"The Hotel Mayer was a great place to stay for our short break in Desenzano and we'd happily stay here again. The hotel and room was very clean and comfortable with an unexpected partial view of the lake from the balcony. The noise insulation was brilliant given we were overlooking a very busy square. "We stayed for 6 nights in Oct/Nov.Lovely en-suite room,clean and comfortable,we had access to a small balcony arrear which must be lovely in summer. Hotel staff very helpful(found information for us re trains etc). Accommodation just 10 mins walk from train station, and 5 mins walk to Lake and boat/ferries. Has a small "fitness" room with tread mill and exercise bike, also an electronic massage chair that was great fun."

Excellent hotel in an amazing location
"The Hotel Mayer was a great place to stay for our short break in Desenzano and we'd happily stay here again. The hotel and room was very clean and comfortable with an unexpected partial view of the lake from the balcony. The noise insulation was brilliant given we were overlooking a very busy square. Reception staff were friendly although it was a bit more hit and miss at breakfast. There was plenty of choice of options to eat, however. The location is perfect - central and on the waterfront, but just a 10 minute walk (albeit uphill) to the station."
