Enjoy an idyllic stay in Cherry Tree Cottage, a beautiful Grade II listed home, dating back to the 1700s, in the heart of the tranquil village of Eydon. Situated in the gorgeous rolling countryside, our cottage is the perfect stay for everyone - a romantic space for couples, country retreats for families & friends (or even a quiet escape for study, work or business trips!)
As you enter the cottage you will be welcomed by the characterful living room, with a comfortable sofa and fireplace with wood-burner, perfect for cosy nights reading or a TV marathon! We have a lovely kitchen with all the basics you need to cook up a storm after a busy day of exploring, and a beautiful dining room in the conservatory, making it the perfect space for soaking up the sun or night skies - along with some long catch ups! You will be kept warm too with the central and underfloor heating.
For those looking to get a bit of work done on their trip, we have a fantastic self-contained study with a laptop-friendly desk and ergonomic chair, so you can tuck yourself away and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Upstairs you will find our beautiful three bedrooms, all served by a shared bathroom with a shower, and idyllic for a great night’s sleep!
Outside there's a small private front garden with lawn space to sit, shaded by an old apple tree and a magnificent cherry tree.
The cottage is full to the brim with character, but due to the age of the property, please note we have some relatively low ceilings and doorways with floors at different levels!
Eydon is a beautiful place to explore, with stunning walks direct from the cottage, friendly locals and plenty of interesting places to visit year round.
The Royal Oak pub is just a 5 minute walk and serves great food. Eydon also has a pop-up farm shop selling meat and other local produce and the old abattoir on the High Street now houses an excellent wine shop open during the afternoon and early evening where the friendly hosts on hand to help you choose. A well stocked mobile shop visits Eydon on Wednesdays. It parks at the village green around lunchtime and sells fruit, veg, eggs, meat etc. Harley Equestrian Cafe has an eclectic collection of shops from art to clothing and plants.
We also have a brand new wine bar just a few minutes’ walk along the High Street from Cherry Tree Cottage! Oboe Wine Shop serves an eclectic selection of wines and it’s a great place to meet the locals. You can also buy wines by the bottle to enjoy at home!
The locality has a rich history and grand estate houses Canons Ashby and Sulgrave Manor (built by George Washington’s ancestors) are a scenic walk or a short drive away. There are various dog-friendly walks direct from the cottage through beautiful rolling countryside.
The cottage is also a great base if you are looking to explore other areas too - such as Oxford, Blenheim, Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Cotswolds!
