Free use of two kayaks - Outside shower, Concrete under house, New Central Air and Heat System, New Windows, Lots of Upgrades...
Fantastic Location!! Very quiet street with sandy beaches front and back of house. Gulf of Mexico is across the street and the Bay is a few hundred feet behind you. Great sunsets. Unique house that offers the best of both worlds. Beach or Bay - you decide. Roughly two hundred feet to the Gulf of Mexico or two hundred feet to Mississippi Sound. Water is in front and back of house!!

The House was super clean and had everything we needed. A few nice bonus items were extra chairs a beach wagon and the Kyaks. The only negative was the Mosquitos at times, they were pretty bad if the wind died down.

Overall we loved our stay in the little blue house. The location was just steps away from the Sehoy beach access making getting to the beach a breeze. Access to the bay is also just steps away. We loved watching the stunning sunsets from the bay. The home could use some updating and maintenance but it was clean and tidy.

I was looking for a remote spot to take my family for a beach vacation and this hit the spot. The house was bright and cheery and it was situated in the perfect location with the Sound of Mississippi on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. The owner was very responsive. And we would definitely love to go back.

We greatly enjoyed the kayaks at the home. We paddled around the bay.
We caught a 36 inch redfish from the shore (paddled the bait out to drop it) as well as several sail catfish and sharks.
The ocean side of the island is nicer for swimming but is just a short walk away which is lovely.
Another wonderful week at Dauphin Island

Perfect for a family with older kids. Some stayed at the bay while others went to beach. The back porch was where we spent most of our time- lyou could see sunrise & sunset. We rented bikes and paddleboards. The bike ride to town was 15-20. To the west beach 5-10. Everything was there for a comfortable stay. I think we watched 10+ movies - so many in their library to choose from.

We absolutely loved the location of this house. Although it sits on the Bay, the Gulf and white sands are just a very short walk across the street. I even anchored my boat a few feet off of the sandy Bay shore for those impromptu late afternoon boat rides to enjoy the phenomenal sunsets. The house was very clean and well stocked with absolutely zero issues. Our kids enjoyed the used of the kayaks John and his team so generously provided. We'll definitely be staying here again. We also stayed at another of John's properties in the spring that was just as great of an experience. My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer!

This was a great place for my family. Just a short walk to the Gulfside beach, and the bayside was basically the “backyard.” The sunrises and sunsets were amazing. Kayaks and grill are nice perks. The owner is very helpful and quick to respond. Overall the place is great with just minor things missing or needing some TLC. The owner is aware and is working thru a remodel. But don’t let those things turn you away. It was a comfy place in a good location with a great AC unit, new washer/dryer, and new refrigerator.

Location could not have been any better. Facing the bay, it was perfect for our family with young kids because the water was calm and shallow. It was quiet and peaceful and we loved all the crabs, dolphins, birds, etc. The house is comfortable for the most part but is in need of some basic repairs like some outlets not working or didn’t have cover plates. Some doors don’t latch. Kitchen cabinets were a little worn out. A little TLC would bring this to a five star.

We enjoyed being close to both the bay and the ocean. Our family enjoyed the kayaks! The house isn’t as new as some, but it was clean and had everything we needed. We never ran out of hot water and had 6 people bathing every night. The only thing we looked for that we couldn’t find was a broom to help with the sand tracked in. There was a vacuum. The outdoor shower also helped.
Overall, great location! Great views from back porch and large windows in the back of the house! John was very helpful with quick responses to questions we had. 👍👍

The first thing we noticed when we got here is that you can stand in the hallway and see the bay out one side and when you turn your head 180 degrees, you can see the gulf. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of beach towels, nice appliances, comfortable furniture, and a really nice TV. Wifi worked the best of any VRBO rental we've ever had. Kayaks were available, which is a huge perk for our family. The owner was extremely responsive and accommodating. Everything has been smooth and low stress. The Dauphin Island Sea Lab was a great place to visit with our kids. We were looking for a nice, quiet beach vacation and we got it.

This was our first time renting a beach home. The pictures were accurate to what this cute little beach house looks like. We are from Oklahoma and this was the best family vacation we have had in a while. It was great to have the bay at the back of the house because the waves were too rough for the little ones to play on the gulf side. The shower outside was great to rinse off little ones covered in sand. The house was clean and comfortable. We did see dolphins out in the channel on the bay side along with finding hermit crabs near the shore. Everyone one on the island is amazing, very friendly. We hope to make this a yearly family vacation. We recommend taking the dolphin watch tour and a fishing charter. Make sure you visit the little gift shops too!

Our family of 8 spent a week at the house this month. The location was perfect for just hanging around and enjoying the beach. We made good use of the kayaks and boogie boards! The house has a fantastic back deck looking into the Bay, and a large living/dining/kitchen area perfect for lounging and enjoying the view. We had one day that rained most of the time, and we still had plenty of space to relax with books and TV. Lots of swimming and walks on the beach. The Bay is the back yard, Gulf beach access is a 2 minute walk across the street. Very quiet area. The house is not fancy, but it is comfortable with two bathrooms and four bedrooms. We did not cook much, but there seemed to be plenty of pots and pans and utensils. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

We loved our stay at this property. So convenient to the Mississippi Sound behine us and the Gulf of Mexico on the front side...each offering their own fun and adventure. We were a family of 8 with 3 grandsons ranging from 15-7.. Each had a tremendous time. Loved fishing in both bodies of water. Even took a pontoon out for 1/2 day to explore the area and let the boys get in a little more fishing with their Papaw. We toured Fort Gaines which my youngest 7 year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed.. He loves everything about the wars and this was the first fort he'd been to. We also toured the Aquarium on the island and that too was fun for all of us.We enjoyed getting on the ferry afterwards to tour the Gulf Shores side.. Eat at a wonderful restuarant and headed by to Dauphin Island to catch the awesome sunset! Our daughter got up early 3 mornings to have time to take her son and see the sunrise.. Beautiful place and definitely worth exploring. House is the perfect location to do so!

The location of this property was perfect! You have the best of both worlds, nice beach area on the bay side in front of place and less than 5 minute walk to the beach area on the gulf side. There was some wear and tear inside but that is to be expected. Very clean and comfortable, we would definately rent again.

This was the perfect vacation house for my family. The inside of the house was clean, open, and bright. Rooms were a good size and the kitchen was great. It was so nice to have a laundry room on the property and the outside shower was a huge help, especially with the kids. The back porch was absolutely amazing and a great place to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. A quick walk will get you to the bay, which was an amazing area for the kids to play because the water was calm and shallow for a LONG ways out. A slightly longer, but under 5 minute, walk will get you to a beach on the gulf side that is tons of fun for everyone who likes to jump around in the waves. We enjoyed collecting sea shells on both beaches. This house really is perfectly situated. The property manager was awesome. Check in couldn't have been easier and the couple of small issues we had were handled super fast. Would recommend this house and property manager to everyone.

The Kayaks property is in a great location with a beautiful view of the Mississippi Sound and a short walk to the gulf beach waves across the street. The home was clean and the layout worked well for our family of 5 and our pup. Loved the bright colors, big kitchen and covered deck! That said, the property is definitely in need of some repairs. The owner was kind, communicative and quick to respond to any issues during our stay. He is now aware of many areas in need of attention and hopefully preparing for future guests! We enjoyed the quieter, less busy environment on Dauphin Island. Just be prepared for fewer dining/grocery options nearby.

Wonderful location! Quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed mornings sitting on the back porch overlooking the Mississippi sound. Then we would head over to the beach for the day. About a 30 second walk across the street. Perfect for our family. I would definitely like to go back and stay.

This is not a fancy, expensive rental.... however, it is perfect for a priced right, reasonable get-a-way with friends and family. The island itself is very quiet and does not have very many restaurants. We hit the grocery store and were able to enjoy using the big open kitchen. If you want more activity, you can take the ferry over to orange beach.

We loved our stay at Kayaks! And we LOVED being on Bayside because it was like having our own private sandy beach.
The kayaks and the grill included were huge bonuses and we used the kayaks daily.
It was a great house with a good layout. We'd definitely stay here again.
