"Authentically maintained old hotel in a stunning location. Considering the very low outside temperatures, the hotel, restaurant and accommodation areas were toasty warm during our entire stay (3 nights). Beds and pillows super comfy, bedding super cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of options on the continental breakfast buffet, and evening menu was great too. A lot of sights to see and several quaint settlements and towns to visit, all within an hour or so drive of the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to return to or recommend!"

"Perfect personable communication with the lovely host, heatpumo on for us when we arrived, chickens there to greet us, lovely wee place, deck, inserted baths in the deck and lovely water pressure for the shower.Thoroughly recommended"

"This is a no frills country pub that doesnt pretend to be anything else. But it delivers everything you hope for ...a clean warm room, a comfortable bed, a great shower, and really good food. It's a great place to stay. "

"Loved the log fire and the pet friendly bach. It had everything we needed. Laura was a great host. We found the dog tie up lead and stake at the perfect moment to pack the car without tripping over one of our dogs. It was lovely and quiet there and great for walking everywhere with our dogs! Highly recommend."

"Fantastically comfortable bed, couldn't wait to get into it each of the 3 nights we stayed. Nicely appointed and very clean accommodation but in this day and age the least expectation would be a small microwave and a sink in the room. Found plates, cups and cutlery but not ideal having to wash up in the bathroom and Ranfurly doesn't have many places to eat out at night."

"The cottage was nicely appointed, clean, and of course, very tranquil. Sharon was communicative and helpful with directions. We enjoyed our stay. It’s off the beaten track and take your time on the journey as you get there, and drive slowly, as the views are lovely. "

"Wonderful spacious, comfortable farmhouse. Extremely well equipped. Fresh linen and comfortable beds. Excellent outdoor area with beautiful surrounding countryside. Highly recommend for families. wanting a break in a rural setting. "
