"Very comfortable room & very quiet. All was great, but we’re hoping that next time we stay, we can get one of the rooms that have already been updated. We had that last week, but not this time. "The hot tub was wonderful! We were grateful to have that. The hosts were really kind, but we were not huge fans of them coming out to meet us right away to help us check in. After driving for several hours, we just wanted to get in and settled. We felt as though the kitchen was missing some basic things for a fully stocked kitchen, so hopefully this review will help others- it is missing a large pot for cooking pasta, no aluminum foil, and many of the pots that are non stick had scrapes in them, which made us hesitant to use them. We saw the washer and dryer in the photos- but as a heads up- renters are not allowed to use them. Now, we went back and looked, it is NOT listed in the amenities, but we saw them in the photos and assumed we could, and so we packed as such, to be able to use the washer and dryer. There are 4 towels for the hot tub, which is fine, except that without a dryer, it makes it difficult to wait for them to hang dry to use them again. It does not have a dish strainer to let the dishes dry, having that would have been very helpful. It is not as private as we hoped. The furniture was cozy, which was a plus. Some places we’ve stayed it feels like you can’t lounge around. This was not the case here. It’s got a fun massage chair that we enjoyed. We loved that it was pet friendly but did NOT smell like other pets had been there. Overall, it was very clean, the hosts were kind, "

"Had to ask for pool towels, front desk staff showed up at work on Saturday and Sunday wearing the same clothes… Sweatpants and a Sweashirt. Always on her personal phone. Standing right outside the entranace smoking. Had to ask for toilet paper because both bathrooms right outside her door were empty, she handed them to me to put away. Bathroom grabages were over full. No extra toilet paper in our room. On check out day..Sunday, cleaning staff had hallway blocked we had to move their stuff so we could get down the hall. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at the rustic retreat! It is clean and appears to be newly renovated. Very inviting, relaxing, and fun. Lots of blankets to cozy up inside and peaceful scenery to enjoy outside. Assuming you plan to explore at Turkey Run State Park, the free admission pass is a great perk offered by the hosts! We also enjoyed a couple campfires (wood included), grilling on the Blackstone, and playing games (including the customized outdoor bowling set). Very impressed with the smart washer/dryer combo as well. This place definitely has a personal touch, lots of attention to detail, with a home away from home feeling."
