My husband & I had a wonderful, relaxing week in this lovely home. A patio and/or balcony on every side of the house allowed for beautiful views at any time of the day or night.
We loved our stay! The house has a great layout with lots of outdoor seating options which we took full advantage watching the incredible sunset/sunrise, and the stars! And the steam shower - fantastic! This is such a lovely area and really enjoyed exploring Crestone and the surrounding areas.
Beautiful property inside and out. Very clean and orderly. Loved the decor! Enjoyed the privacy and the peace & quiet as well as the lovely sunrises and sunsets. Very roomy and comfortable. Highly recommend!
This house was perfect for a girls weekend away; plenty of space, with several bedrooms and sitting areas. Stunning views from the multiple decks/patios on the property. Very nicely appointed kitchen and everything was super clean!
This was our 2nd stay and we will be back again. Michelle does a really nice job of maintaining what is already a beautiful clean and comfortable rental. Highly recommend!

Stunning!
Michelle's home is absolutely stunning. The views are incredible and the home itself is beautiful inside and out. Our visit was wonderful and we hope to return soon!
This is house is my favorite place in all of Crestone. I come here to enjoy the solitude, the views, the animal visitors....Michelle is a gracious and responsive host, the house is perfect, and I always have a hard time leaving.
We wanted to getaway and relax, which we did in a fabulous home. About an hour from the Great Sand Dunes, you can get an early start and beat the crowds. Great sun sets and moon rise. The skies are dark which makes for fun astrophotography.
We'll be back
If you want a getaway to the Rocky Mountains, this is a great location. Beautiful scenery, very quiet and secluded, and also has great outdoor seating so you can spend as much time outside as you want. Very little light at night so it is also great for stargazing.
Downtown Crestone also has some cool shops, cafes, and 2 grocery stores. It is a little bit of a drive if you wanted to go to other towns, or the Sand Dunes because all the roads go around the national park, but the drive is worth it for the location.
The manager was very nice and responded quick to any questions we asked. Property was very well kept, and it seems too they continue to refurbish and improve the house. Highly recommend this listing!

Amazing views from every deck. Well equipped home/
Three generations enjoyed the breath taking views and amazing out door space. Michelle provided valuable pre trip information regarding her home and the surrounding area. She even followed up to ensure we had arrived safely and had everything we needed.
Her home provided a great location for exploring the Sand Dunes National Park and other local attractions. We fell in love with Crestone.
Thank you for providing the perfect home for our family.
This is a great house but it has some maintenance problems that need to be addressed.

Our home away from home
My husband and I married each other in this precious home five years ago. How heart- warming it was to be back. Our favorite spot is the balcony you see in the photo. We love watching the sun sets from this balcony. It is truly one of our favorite spots in the world. The beauty is breathtaking! We also adore the kitchen. So beautiful and well stocked with all of our favorite things. And then of course I have to mention the glorious steam shower/bath... aaaahhhhh... My husband and I are exploring building one in our home here in Boulder!
Incredible owner/host... and absolutely fantastic property!!!
Michelle was/is an amazing host. Her property incorporates incredible spacing, movement, light, and 360 degree views into the surrounding Sangre de Cristo, San Luis Valley, and San Juan Mountain landscapes.
The kitchen is top shelf... amazing appliances and cookware for all of your in house meals.
Incredibly secluded and private, yet a 5 minute drive from town.
Straight up... this is a special property and a special town and special part of Colorado.
You will be hihjly rewarded for visiting, on multiple levels.
Thank you, Michelle!

Beautiful Nights in Crestone
This house is located in a small, quiet community of Crestone. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. (We traveled around Colorado for our honeymoon and rented 3 different houses; this one was our favorite!) We were pleased with how clean and cozy this rental was. The house has gorgeous views from both the front and back porches which are great for sunsets over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It has a large, high-quality kitchen with everything you need to cook a complete meal. The living area has large glass windows so you feel as if you are outdoors. The master bedroom is a good size with an awesome porch and bathroom/ tub. We enjoyed this house so much that we are planning to return at the end of the year.
The purpose of choosing this house was specifically to visit and hike at Great Sand Dunes National Park and in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Anyone reading this review with that in mind should know that the house is about 45-60 minutes drive to those destinations. The town of Crestone is limited in options for eating or shopping. That said, the house is VERY nice. The kitchen is well stocked and the house has a nice layout. There are several outdoor balconies and seating areas to enjoy the spectacular vistas and the house sits on the edge of the mountains. The beds are comfortable. The house does not have air conditioning but by opening all the windows, the house temperature is very comfortable in the summer. I would recommend this property for visiting this area.
A great, quiet and beautiful place for our family for a long weekend
This place is lovely! Wonderfully laid out for myself and husband and 2 young adult children. We spent needed time just gazing at the horizon to the east one evening from the upper porch, sitting outside the main floor reading and talking in the quiet and peacefulness of this setting. The kitchen was frankly better than the one we have at home, stocked with all that we needed to make meals. It is a ways from restaurants and grocery stores, and we enjoyed cooking there knowing this. The living room was comfortable and spacious for lounging. The bedrooms are well appointed, extra clean and neat and we felt very comfortable. We went one day to the Sand Dunes, an hour away and enjoyed the long vistas on the the drive there and back just as much as the Dunes! The host, Michelle, was very communicative, helpful and responsive.
We have no reservations going back. One of the best VRBO's we've ever been in!
My family of six was blown away by the beauty and location of this house. It has so many outside areas, I wish we could have spent a whole day just reading and relaxing in this house. Our last night there, around 2am, we all woke up and saw the Milky Way in the night sky.
Pros: 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, beautiful kitchen, dishwasher, washer dryer, 2 decks upstairs, one enclosed, one open to the sky and leading to a ladder to the top of the roof for sky gazing. Peaceful, remote, private, special. An hour to the Great Sand Dunes. On a mountainside. We ate every night at the local brewery 5 minutes away in the town of Crestone.
Minor inconvenience: Bumpy driveway, warm upstairs at night in bedrooms, need fan in the bedroom with 2 beds.
We all six would love to stay here again! Amazing!

Remote Vacation - Worth the Drive from Boulder!
This property offers a completely different type of vacation - as it sits in a very remote area. The drive from the Boulder area was absolutely beautiful - the fall colors were close to peak - so many of the mountains had layers of color from the aspens. We were most interested in hiking and found a few trails close to the house that were amazing. This area is not as heavily visited as some of the other more popular trails - so we were thrilled with our experience of hiking to Crestone Lake. The house is very well laid out with 3 outside seating areas - they all got used! The kitchen is well stocked if you want to do your own cooking - we shopped in Salida - which was the closest grocery store other than Alamosa. The Great Dunes National Park is visible from the road as we drove toward Crestone - It is about an hour from the house we stayed at - so we did take a day to travel out to the Dunes. Definitely worth the drive to see the dunes up close and there is a 4 hour hike at Mosca Trail that is less than a mile from the park. I would definitely recommend this property to people looking for a remote vacation and/or great hiking.
