About this property

1 Bed in Coniston (LCC59)

  • Situated in a peaceful location at the north-east head of Coniston Water, this gorgeous cottage promises an idyllic stay for couples. Spend the day walking around the trails to the peak of the Old Man of Coniston (3 miles) before stopping in one of the local pubs up to 2 miles from the cottage for a drink and a bite to eat. With beautiful original features and complementary decor, this property is perfect for returning to after a long day exploring this stunning part of the Lake District.

As soon as you step in through the oak front door, you’ll feel the warm welcome of this pretty cottage. Exposed beams and peaceful neutral tones make the perfect blend of the traditional and the contemporary; sleek appliances and a stunning dark tiled floor in the kitchen diner match seamlessly with the rustic dining table and chairs. Upstairs, comfortable sofas and soft lighting in the lounge beckon you to curl up in front of the wood burner in the evening with a good book. But if it’s warm enough, spend nights out on the front patio, sizzling up a BBQ and dining alfresco.

Make sure you take a romantic trip on the National Trust’s Steam Yacht Gondola on Coniston Water (2.5 miles) before you take a stroll around the many footpaths to experience nature up close. England’s largest lake, Windermere (10 miles), is one of the most popular places to visit in the Lake District but is worth it for the breathtaking views. The charming village of Kendal is a haven for foodies with lots of cafes and restaurants – make sure you taste some Kendal mint cake while you’re there! If gingerbread is more your thing, there’s a famous shop in Grasmere (10 miles) that must not be missed.
