"We live in Edinburgh but had to book somewhere to stay while we were having work done at our house and Sycamore Cottage was perfect for four of us. The bedrooms are really spacious and the kitchen is really well equipped which isn’t always the case in self catering accommodation. We didn’t think we’d need to use the log burner but a typical Scottish spring meant we used it a few nights and there was plenty of logs left for it. Easy to drive into Edinburgh or can get the train from Gorebridge....

"My friends (3) and I were wonderfully surprised by this stay. Hosts were beyond helpful, and fast to respond. Beautiful property and cozy atmosphere. The cottage is well organized and EXTREMELY clean. One of the best places I have stayed in. It is easy to get into Edinburgh but does take 45 minutes by one bus. Overall a wonderful experience and a great place to stay if you are making a trip to Edinburgh and area. Definitely would stay here again!"

Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. "We wanted to take our parents back to an area we love with fond memories and that of course was Fife. We needed a cottage big enough for four, spacious and all the essentials. Sleeping six, we found it in Kilconquhar, a short throw from Elie, Anstruther, even St Andrews and yet peaceful enough to sit on a night and read a book. Two bathrooms/toilets, a dining area more than adequate and of course a big enough kitchen to practice ones favourite pastime! What was there not to like?"

"We are a family of 5 and we stayed at the Bothy for 4 nights during half term. It is an ideal location for day trips in and around Edinburgh and it is very close to the local village of Penicuik which was handy for supermarkets, takeaways etc. The Bothy is very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. It was just as described and more! Kate and John were extremely helpful in their communication before our stay and were on hand if we needed it while we were there. The tray of goodies...

"We traveled with two kids under four, my spouse, and her parents. The apartment had tons of space and a nice patio as well. This cottage is literally built within the wall of the castle grounds. The very windows you look out to see the ocean and the sheep are built right into the wall. The walk around the property is fantastic. Beautiful rose gardens, herbs everywhere, and more apple trees than you can count. There are many walking trails just outside the castle walls as well. You will...
