The Retreat Holiday Home, Christchurch, Dorset. Family and couple friendly.

COMPLETELY REDECORATED FOR 2023/24!
The Retreat is a modern end terraced mews style cottage nestled in a secluded cul de sac in Christchurch, Dorset. The accommodation consists of an open plan living area with vaulted ceilings and skylight windows creating a light and airy environment. Two bedrooms accommodate four people and there is a three piece luxury bathroom with shower. There is a secure enclosed garden and patio area outside. The property has a reserved parking space in the grounds.
The cottage is located a short walk from Stanpit Marsh Nature Reserve and Christchurch’s historic town centre is 10 minutes on foot . Mudeford Quay and Avon Beach, both popular family beaches, are a 5 minute drive away. The New Forest, Poole and Bournemouth are all a short drive away. Buses to Bournemouth and Poole stop at the end of the road. There are an amazing 12 miles of sandy and shingle beaches adjacent to Christchurch. Most of them hold the prestigious blue flag award for cleanliness.
Mudeford Quay sits at the entrance of Christchurch Harbour and is the home of the towns thriving fishing community which provides much of the produce for the Quays fish stall. The picturesque Quay houses a handful of fisherman’s cottages and there are spectacular views along the coast and across to the Isle of Wight. Crabbing is a popular pastime and it is from here that the passenger ferry runs across to Hengistbury Head. The Quay's authentic fishing credentials and its traditional Haven pub add to Mudeford Quay's appeal.
The cottage is ideally located for those who enjoy the outdoor life. There are beaches and nature reserves nearby and the New Forest is only a short drive. Whether you are looking for an active break or a family holiday there are plenty of activities in the local area for you to enjoy.

Property although close to a busy road is actually at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Easy walk into Christchurch town centre or Mudeford and the quay/beach. Reasonably priced accomadation ideal for a young family.

The property was clean, cosy and perfect for our long weekend break. It was a relaxing place to be when we returned from our days out, with modern amenities, excellent shower/bath and even a small garden for our pooch to enjoy. The hosts communication was great and she was lovely to talk with. I would definitely recommend and definitely use again if we are in that neck of the woods.

Nice property with friendly neighbours and handy corner shop. Convenient location for walking into town or going further afield by car. Only gripe - sofas very soft and difficult for older people to get out of! Comment - security light above front door not working.

We found the house to be very clean and great for a family with 2 young children. The fenced off garden was a bonus as our toddler couldn't escape! We had everything we needed.

What a little gem. The property is situated behind the shop and pub, but you wouldn't know it, it's so quiet! It has everything you need and feels very spacious with the vaulted ceilings. We loved it. The location is ideal as you don't really need your car to get about. We walked to the beach, into town, the local nature reserve and along the river. The next door neighbour was very nice and really helpful. We can recommend the Ship in Distress pub and the Thai restaurant next door, it does a great takeaway

Was located just off a main road into Christchurch town centre. There's a Thai restaurant, a newsagent/convenience store and a kebab/pizza place around the opening into the 'close' where the house is. Just a 10 minute walk into town with the castle ruins as you get there and then plenty of places to eat and drink! We were there over the Jubilee weekend and the food festival was on in the town quay so was plenty to do and see there, too! Overall a nice long weekend away with my gfriend and our 5-year-old son :)

Very good. Everything we needed was there. Parking was ok but we had two cars and the spaces were vacant but we parked one on the road. The house was lovely and Theresa seems to have everything so lovely in the home. We wanted for nothing and had a lovely stay.

The property is located within easy walking distance of Christchurch town centre and marshland walks (we came with a dog) and just a short drive from local beaches. The house itself was clean, comfortable, well equipped and deceptively spacious and the neighbours were friendly. We did have a minor maintenance issue but the owner sorted it within 24 hours. We wouldn’t hesitate in returning to this property if we were going back to the area.

Lovely little house, well placed tucked away from the main thoroughfare. Pub/Chinese restaurant, fish and chip shop and a corner shop all within 50 yards of the property. Center of Christchurch is a 15 minute walk. Owners are quick to respond to any questions. We did find the hot water system was a bit temperamental, however we were informed that it was due for a service.
