We travelled to Chch for the UC open day. All we needed was a comfortable place to sleep, for a good price. This place Ickes both boxes. I was especially appreciative of the secure indoor car parking.

The room itself wasn't great (quite dated furniture, tiny windows, and some broken items like the bedside lamps which need to be fixed), but strangely the bathroom was quite nice! The carpark under the building was quite tight to get in and out of, and we had to reverse out once to let someone else leave as there's no room to pass on the way in or out. The bed was actually quite comfortable, and the location was convenient for us, so I could have looked past the other issues, if it weren't for the noise and light that made it hard to sleep. The bedroom only had blinds rather than curtains, and they still let quite a bit of light in. Our room was also on the road side of the building, and above the entrance to the bar downstairs. Through the night we heard buses, boy racers, and for quite a while, some people loudly talking outside the bar. We were booked for 3 nights so on the 2nd day we went across the road to buy earplugs. The hotel is on a busy road so noise is to be expected, and I can usually live with it, but even with the earplugs in we could still hear the traffic noise which we haven't had before, so the road noise in that particular room was quite bad... It was a shame as otherwise I could look past the other issues. If you stay here, I'd try to make sure you get a room that is further away from the busy road.

Upon our arrival we were greeted with friendly and warming hospitality. Check in went very smooth. It has undercover secured parking for us to parked our car free of charge. Location were great as there is Woolworths and fitness centre nearby.The room was super clean and also the bathroom. Highly recommend to stay here when your are visiting Christchurch
