Very disappointed in this hotel, firstly to be charged the added deposit of £100 on arrival that was not stipulated on the booking site, then to be questioned awkwardly as to why I queried it, when I noticed it had be taken out of my account was totally unacceptable.
Secondly the state of the spa area was to say the least very disappointing, firstly the jacuzzi only works 7 minutes off then 7 minutes on and this was supposed to be a full seven minutes on, we timed it to be more 4 to 5 minutes. The biggest complaint was the steam room was awful, grubby. ingrained dirt on the seats and smelted awful, both the doors to the steam-room and sauna needed cleaning, this resulted in my partner coming out in a rash that over her body. When I mentioned this to the Spa staff they really did not seem bothered. we booked a two spa break but used the facility once due to this concern.
Thirdly the communication on the complaints has not really been dealt with satisfactory and the Spa concerns have been totally not recognized in the email process. I have used the Marriot chain many times before with no issues but this one was a total let down on what looked on paper a lovely hotel and what could be a nice break away, certainly not value for money.
The only compliment i can give this place is the staff on duty where very friendly and polite and respectful, its the facility's and after care I would question due to the disappointment
