Despite concerns about the Hualien earthquake, even if I couldn't get a refund, I canceled my trip to Hualien and continued to stay in Kenting. "We had a great stay at this hotel. Our room was first class and the internal facilities at the hotel were really great. Externally the hotel looked a little drab and rundown but that just gave the wrong impression to our actual experience. Staff went out of their way to help. Breakfast was top quality and in a lovely setting. Proximity to the beach was good."
