Lake living in a relaxed family and pet-friendly home

If you’re looking for the perfect large gathering space, there is room for even the extended family here! Take a trip that is reminiscent of going to your grandparents’ log home or summer camp. Swim, swing, make S’mores, work puzzles, play board games, tennis, or basketball, kayak, bring your own boat for fishing or play or rent one locally. There is a boat ramp and a loading dock, but no overnight docking.

PET/ALLERGY WARNING: Your well-behaved pets are welcome, but be aware there are cats and dogs that live here when you’re not visiting.

Keeping in mind the many small families that make up a large family like ours or a friend group, each room is designed to accommodate two adults and at least one additional child or adult. Tent camping in the backyard could even provide protected adventure for some.

A permanent ramp is located at the side entrance of the home, and a portable ramp for back entrances is available. Raised toilet seat with support handles is available. Please contact us with any questions.

There are two security cameras/doorbells on the premises covering front and back yard areas/pool.

Great place for family gathering

Enjoyed our stay place was perfect! We had 14 family members and everyone had a bed. Very clean and place had everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time on deck and pool. Definitely recommend.

Youth Trip

Family Vacation 2024

We had the best time at this beautiful house! There was plenty of space for our group to spread out or come together. The office worked great for a grand daughter’s online class and a daughter’s zoom meeting. We enjoy cooking on our vacations and this kitchen had everything we needed. The pool was especially great on the 90+ days. We found lots of things to do in the surrounding area. This house helped make a perfect vacation for our 4 generations.

We were all out of towners and Ron made everything a breeze! Helping us find caterers, golf and surrounding restaurants! Easy commute to USC and great location for a large family/friend gathering! Would definitely stay here again!

Great place for small fishing club!

Ron was able to accommodate our group of 7 boats with private ramp across the street. We all slept comfortably and had all we needed. Looking forward to another stay.

Wedding Bliss!

I cannot say enough good things about this home and these hosts. We were married on Saturday by the pool under the lights of the pergola. The venue was perfect for our celebration. Ron and Joy went above and beyond to help us prepare for our big day and make it special!

We had a blast renting this place for our family reunion/celebration.

This house was fantastic for our family reunion! We had people come from all over the US and this place had enough space for us all. The beds were great and the house was clean. They even left little touches like notes and baked goods which were really appreciated! We were sad it was cold and rainy during our stay, but the house had plenty of space for us to enjoy our time inside. Would definitely recommend!

Family Reunion

This house is beautiful inside and out. We had our first family reunion here and it was a blast. It had everything we needed and more. Tons of room inside for the older generation to be comfortable and lots of activity spaces outside for all ages. Ron is super quick to answer any questions and was very accommodating. We will definitely be back if another family event is in Chapin.

Family Time Retreat

A great rustic log cabin for bringing family together! The room with the fireplace is like a private longue with piano. My nephew brought his guitar and we sung around the fire. Only complaint would be too many drop rugs which are tripping hazards for older people. We just rolled them up and put them out of the way where necessary.

Family get together

Perfect size house for large,mixed age group. Huge pool with lots of floats and seating. Few minutes to Publix and close to Lake. The owners have pets, cats and dogs so there is some pet hair. We were out round the pool most of the time and it did not worry us. We had a great vacation.

We celebrated Chapin HS Class of 1983 40 year reunion...we had close to 60+ classmates and friends over to enjoy this wonderful occasion...It was heartwarming to see so many beautiful smiles/hugs/tears of joy remembering our time together..."the days may be long but the years are short"

Perfect home for family visiting for a wedding

This home was awesome! When we first walked in we were surprised to find a coffee cake and sign for the wedding. They have thought of everything you could possibly need away from home. We had family in from Ohio for my daughter's wedding. Having this house made the stay amazing. We had a total of 11 people representing three families - five children five and under. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of toys and books for children. This became the extended family gathering place - plenty of rooms and space to visit with folks. It was a great weekend!

The house was beautiful. The host was great. We did move many rugs because fear of sliding or tripping. The site said cats have been in the house, but there was lots of cat hair. Some of our ladies began having reactions to the cats. There were some soft boards on the ramp. Step downs from different levels had been adjusted but seemed narrow.. We really enjoyed the grill and outdoor space. I think we forgot to replace covers on grill and table. It was a very well equipped house.

An Oasis

My family stayed here for 5 days for my daughter's graduation from University of South Carolina. We were looking for someplace where we could celebrate and relax away from the craziness of downtown Columbia. Our stay was perfect. The hosts knew we were coming for graduation. When we arrived they had left Happy Graduation messages in the house along with treats. The house is beautiful, clean, and a perfect Oasis for a relaxing stay. The main bedroom on the first floor was perfect for the Grandparents and there was plenty of room for parents and siblings. We hosted a dinner at the house and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The screened in porch was perfect for breakfasts and dinners and the upper deck and pool patio were great reading spots. It was quite relaxing listening to all the different birdsongs in the backyard. Everyone loved the house and I highly recommend it. We felt like we were staying with friends. The hosts were extremely gracious and helpful.
