"The only thing that saved this review from being a two star was the fact I chose a room with a jetted tub. At first when we checked in, our room was poorly or not cleaned, so then we had to tell the front desk about it. Luckily they were quick to help but we could've waited if they were not done, we shouldn't have to ask. Anyways they still haven't updated the website on here but apparently they had their pool shut down a few years ago, we did get an email that the pool wasn't available at the time of our stay but it's weird that their page wasn't updated that there's just no pool to swim in anymore? The free breakfast wasn't any better than what what you could make at home, the best tasting thing they had was the store bought muffins. When I went down to the basement and into the fitness room out of curiosity, first thing I tried was the treadmill and it didn't work because there was no emergency stop button. It feels like they kinda gave up in maintaining the hotel, I'm not sure if the management is poor as well. The only pros I can give the place is that if you take transit it's in a really accessible and convenient area, I liked the jetted tub, housekeeping was alright after I said something after we checked in. But I wouldn't come here if I was expecting really good service, because they let it go awhile back probably. Overall: It was ok, but not great enough either to come back. Always consider looking at reviews and doing research before booking your hotel!"

"The hotels rooms are on the older end of things. Window was really dirty from outside making even the sunlight not as appealing. However, inside, the rooms were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we asked questions. The biggest pro was the pool was a decent size and the continental breakfast was VERY good. Lots of hot choices (such as pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausages) along with the usual muffins and cold items (cereal). We thought maybe the weekday breakfast would be less elaborate, but to our delight it was equally thorough. Overall, for the price, it was a good hotel that gave us a safe, welcoming place to stay."

"If you’re heading to Guelph, do yourself a favour and book the Comfort Inn Guelph—it’s that simple. I stayed for two days and it exceeded expectations at every turn. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, with everything exactly where you need it. The bed? Genuinely restful. The kind of sleep that makes you forget you’re in a hotel. What really stood out, though, was the service. Friendly without being overbearing, attentive without being intrusive—just consistently professional and welcoming. It felt like they actually cared that your stay was a good one. Add in the value, and it becomes an easy decision. When you can get this level of comfort, cleanliness, and service at such a reasonable price, it honestly makes you question why anyone would pay double elsewhere. Short version: reliable, comfortable, and exceptional value. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again—and likely won’t stay anywhere else in Guelph."
