Spectacular Hawaiian-Style Contemporary Vacation Rental on the lagoon across from the Pacific Ocean in Carlsbad!

Ohana Suite (3 bedroom / 3 bath) 1800 sq feet

Are you looking for high end finishes with stunning whitewater ocean views and peaceful serenity? This is the place! Rare double Cul de Sac location provides unsurpassed peace and relaxation at the beach! There are ocean views from nearly every room!

Huge unparalleled 'sky deck' with forever ocean views! The deck has comfy outdoor furniture and a natural gas fire table and grill. Inside there are European commercial appliances, a natural gas fireplace, high efficiency forced air heating and air conditioning, 55' Smart TV and super-fast, reliable high speed internet access. There is no carpeting in this unit -- just luxurious stonework and porcelain floors. The residence is fully furnished, the kitchen fully equipped. We provide all linens and beach towels. We also provide beach chairs, beach umbrellas, Boogie Boards, sand toys, and 2 beach cruisers. When you return from the beach, there is an outdoor natural stone beach shower and more fun in our game rooms with pinball, Pac Mac, and Foosball.

There are 3 rental options at Kai.

Rent the upper level Ohana Suite (3 Bedroom / 3 Bath).
Rent the main level Lanai Suite (2 bedroom / 2 Bath).
Or combine the 2 Suites and rent the entire Kai residence (5 Bedroom / 5 Bath)

Each suite can be completely independent of the other - private locked entrance, private kitchen, private baths and private deck.

No pets or smoking permitted anywhere on the property.


A 10-minute walk on a sandy path around the lagoon to the beach. One mile to the charming village of Carlsbad for shopping, dining, and nightlife.

Amazing Home

Our entire experience was outstanding. The home was immaculate. Beautiful views from almost every window. The ease of checking in was excellent. The owner was kind enough to welcome us, by leaving us a nice bottle of wine upon our arrival. The amenities were plentiful. Every detail to making one’s experience perfect was addressed. Will be back for sure. You will not find a home in Carlsbad that offers do much for the very reasonable price!!

The property was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in, very clean, nice appliances and furniture

We were there on a golfing trip, house is in a great location. Didn’t get to experience the very nice back deck but one night. Rained entire week. Viewed some beautiful sunsets, and multiple rainbows.

Beautiful view and house! Super fun and family friendly

We loved this so much. The garage area is super fun and awesome to have access to boogie boards, ect. The house is beautiful, balcony is amazing, and the host was very responsive and helpful! Quick drive to the beach. We loved our stay! I would have done 5 stars, but there somehow was a mixup and we actually reserved the two bedroom suite, which was cheaper, but then somehow it got switched and we paid more for the three-bedroom. The 3-bedroom was amazing, but would have liked to save a little bit more. We didnt try to change it once we were there, they may have been accomodating and would have changed it, we just figured we would deal with it.

Better than Home

My family which includes 4 kids, Mom, Dad, and Grandma had an awesome time in the Ohana Suite. We loved how close it was to the beach and LEGOLAND and even were totally fine spending a whole day in the house during a rainy day with all of its available entertainment. My kids loved the classic Arcade machines, the unlimited credits, the bonus attic, and the shuffle board! The adults enjoyed the views, the deck, the Smart TV, the board games, the Pinball machines, the in-unit Washer/Dryer, the Heater and A/C, the kitchen, and the large showers including the outside shower to clean off the sand before coming into the house! We definitely recommend the Ohana Suite as this unit has it all!

Excellent location close to the beach and within walking distance to Carlsbad Village.

The beds were extremely comfortable and sitting on the deck enjoyable. Great house...everything is fairly new and upgraded, with the exception of the kitchen island chairs, which need to be replaced. Great place to relax and de-stress.

The property is clean and view is nice. However the location is noisy, next to the train tracks, the freeway and the Pacific Coast Highway. About 3/4 mile walk into Carlsbad Village. Not one piece of comfortable furniture in the place and obviously never lived in by another human being. Nice view of the power plant. Need to cross the PCH to get to the beach. Definitely a corporate property. Spacious property inside with nice balcony.

Wonderful property!

This place was amazing! It had gorgeous views and plenty of space for the six of us. It was very clean and nicely decorated. It had a great game area and the pinball machines were a hit! We enjoyed spending time on the beautiful deck overlooking the lagoon and ocean! We will defiantly be back to this place!
