I've heard a few stories about this place, one being that locals sometimes toss live chickens off the bridge to put on a "show". I also read somewhere that a drunk man was bet $20 to swim across the river...and he did, but didn't quite make it.
If you are at all amazed by crocodiles, this place is crazy cool. I've been here a couple of times and still get excited by the number of crocs there are. Once in awhile you'll see a stork slowly walk up to a croc, almost as if he's doing a dare, and the croc will slowly swim towards him. You get your camera ready waiting for something to go down. The stork usually smartens up and flys off though.

"We had a wonderful week in Costa Rica and this was the perfect home base. Conveniently located to the San Jose airport and day trips to Jaco for fun in the sun. We loved coming back to the house in the evening for pool side happy hour and grilling for dinner. Wonderful views of the Central Valley and cool night air provided a perfect setting to cast your cares away. Piet and Yvonne were wonderful hosts and I highly recommend this property."

"This was our second stay and had a great time. The host and staff are wonderful. The location is terrific right on the beach with your own pool and 10-minute drive to a marina to go deep sea fishing. "

"The place was just fantastic, it had everything yet a minimalistic feel to it. The trek up the hill is a bit high but you get used to it. Now let's get to what I thought was THE MOST fantastic view of the gulf! Your could sit there for hours in awe of this view. "Pros: Kind, responsive property managers, close to beach and local food nearby. Cons: Roaches. I was beyond mortified to have had my leftovers in a to-go box in the refrigerator and upon opening to Re-heat a cockroach about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long scurried out!!! Everything we had, that we’d opened we threw out. Upon leaving the room, at about 3:45a we were packing and cleaning our dishes and saw again baby roaches rushing to hide into the walls which confirmed there are roaches in the unit....

"The home was fantastic. It's location was great with breathtaking views. The staff was very attentive to our needs and provided a wonderful week for us. We loved the many alcoves where people could get alone to think or pray. The kitchen was great and the pool was wonderful. "
