Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide

Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here last minute as our camping trip was cut short in mid October. We were able to check in early, which was such a nice surprise as we had been backpacking for three days. Staff at the front desk were so kind and friendly. He gave us a complimentary upgrade to a room with a great view and a fireplace! Check in was a breeze. Right away I noticed how beautiful the hotel was, and ultra clean. Every time I turned around someone was cleaning the floors lol. The room was huge, so spacious (we stayed earlier in our trip at the Lake Louise Inn, which was beautiful but very old and small). I loved how there were hardwood floors (I have a thing with hotel rooms and carpets). The shower was huge and they use some type of local shampoo/conditioner/soap that smelled amazing. Our son had an awesome time in the pool. The water slide is huge and was a big hit! Hot tub was great. As was the sauna. The next morning we had their complimentary breakfast. It had all the staples (sausages, eggs, fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, etc). Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. If I had a dollar for every time we said “wow this hotel is great” we could have stayed for free. If we ever come back to Canmore we will 100% stay here. I hope this review makes its way to the staff. Honestly the cleanliness and how updated this hotel was, along with the pool/sauna/hottub, blew our expectations out of the water. Amazing place to stay. If you’re reading this, book this hotel."

"We loved our stay here! We came for our 10 year anniversary and they had a sweet treat waiting for us. It made it feel special. ❤️ I highly suggest opting in for the spa included with your stay! You can go each day of your stay and it was perfect for after hiking. The “experiences” there (like heat and flow) were awesome! The spa mountain views make it feel extra special. We absolutely loved our experience and will book again with them. It’s in Canmore, outside of Banff, but isn’t far. About a 20+ min drive. And if you book tours, they will pick you up from the hotel."

"Didn't really need to interact with the staff at all as everything was handled online and via email. Very comfortable, quiet and clean room to chill out in after a full day of activities. Parking was easy, wifi was great. Location is perfect for checking out Canmore, especially into the evening and for getting on to the main routes towards Banff or Calgary. Would absolutely stay here again."

Chateau Canmore

Chateau Canmore

8/10 Good
"We, a middle-aged couple, stayed overnight at Chateau Canmore. The front desk staff was helpful, kind, and efficient on check-in and check-out. Our room was on the 5th floor with a beautiful mountain view out the mid-sized window and a fireplace in the corner (we did not turn it on as it was a lovely fall day). Our room was very large and had a desk, a chair, a sofa (I think a sofa bed), a sink, mini fridge, Keurig coffee machine, and a little kitchen counter area. The bathroom was mid-size with a shower in a bathtub, a generous supply of towels, and was sparkling clean. The entire room was a bit outdated but very clean and spacious (lots of room for luggage), with very good lighting. Decor was minimal and neutral and a bit outdated. The bed was very comfortable. Be aware that the train track runs quite close behind the building and, although our stay was very quiet otherwise, several trains of varying length passed by during the night. If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs would be helpful. There was a hot tub and exercise room (we did not use either) but other guests looked like they were enjoying the hot tub very much. We had breakfast downstairs at Chez Francois and discovered a wonderful breakfast/brunch spot with friendly quick service, and best of all delicious food! Overall, we would stay at Chateau Canmore again and definitely eat at Chez Francois whenever we're in Canmore."
