Our canal view room was worth the extra expense and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Bathroom was newly refurbished and very modern. Food was of good quality at breakfast and one dinner in the restaurant, if a little on the expensive side. Would definitely stay at the Ambassade Hotel again. Red light district 5 min, Anne Frank house 18, Heineken factory 12, museums & restaurants galore. All within walking. We took a taxi from the airport €82. The train and 1 subway stop is what we took leaving instead. Lisa at reception was very helpful with recommendations. Our room was facing the front of the hotel with canal view.
