"A lovely hotel, less than a 5 minute walk from the Symphony Hall. Spread over 15-16 floors, not pretty from the out side but friendly & comfortable inside. Very inviting (although busy) at check-in, Room was spacious , clean & in great condition with everything you need. 2 restaurants (one with Indian cuisine), great food & service! The hotel was busy as it was a Friday night but there was a great atmosphere. During the night the room was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection of food. The staff were supportive & friendly throughout. There is parking available although we didn’t need it. For us, 10/10. Thank you!! "

"Lovely spacious room and a very comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom with Penhaligons toiletries. Nespresso machine and proper milk! Had a drink in Madeline 's bar which had a very relaxed atmosphere with a friendly, efficient service. I would highly recommend The Grand Hotel for a stay in Birmingham. I hope to return sometime. "

"Was visiting a show at the NEC so stayed the night before. Travelled by train and the hotel is just a short walk from the station and well sign posted. You walk through the ser ice area of the NEC which you would think wrong if not for the clear signage. The hotel itself was clean and the staff very pleasant and helpful. The room was perfectly adequate with a nice ensuite shower room, no bath. I could hear people walking along the corridor but it did nor disturb me. Room was air conditioned and the temperature easily adjusted but no opening windows. Tea and coffee tray was fine but I did have a broken kettle lid which was a little dangerous, which I reported on checkout. Overall very happy and would stay there again."

"The staff on reception were very helpful and knowing there were there at all hours me and my daughter stayed 2 nights but the first night was very noisy as were on the front of the hotel, we mentioned it and they moved us to the back of hotel, for last eve, would stay again definitely 😁"

"I stayed at The Bloc Hotel during a short trip to Birmingham for an event, and overall it was a great experience. The location is really convenient – just a short walk from the train station and close to the Bullring, which made things a lot easier after a long journey. It was a relief to know I didn’t have far to go once I arrived in the city. I mainly used the hotel to drop off my things and get some rest, as I was out all day at the event. For that purpose, it was ideal – affordable, clean, and comfortable. A nice touch was the free water bottles provided in the room, which was appreciated. One small downside: there wasn’t a mirror in the bedroom, only in the bathroom. So if you’re someone who needs a mirror for makeup or getting ready, that might be a bit inconvenient. It would be great if they added one to the room in the future. Overall, a solid choice for a short and functional stay in the city."
