If you are looking for a western style hotel that has a happening nightlife and tons of bars and people around, then this is not the place for you. Very interesting landscape and loved the osen. It is one of the few private osens where I could bathe with my partner. One thing that should be made clear on the Expedia description is that you can only pay with cash!

Absolutely amazing stay. Loved the traditional Japanese styles they used and the in-room onsen was so cool! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great traditional Japanese luxury stay at an affordable price!

A really nice Japanese style Onsen Hotel with great staff and a warm atmosphere. Their traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing as was the family onsen. Just a short walk from the train station and super close to all the shopping and food stores on the Main Street.

This was a gem of a hotel in the middle of NOWHERE. But I can't fault the hotel with that. The hotel was very clean, staff was nice and my room is huge for even Western standards. Just nothing to eat around that location... 😯

Shiosai no yado Seikai is an outstanding onsen/hotel in Beppu. From arrival to departure the staff, including Mr. Ohkubo, provided exceptional hospitality and service. Our room was upscale spacious, clean, modern and equipped with all the amenities that the most demanding guest would want. The furo/spa facilities were clean and well stocked with needed supplies. Great Onsen and great lounge.

I absolutely loved staying here! The onsen was perfect after a day of driving. The style of the hotel is really cool, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Motorbike parking was available and the room was comfy and warm. It's a short walk into town, but nothing too difficult.

Room was huge and the mattress was first-rate. Staff were exceptionally helpful. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was varied and delicious. It was just as advertised.
