Bianca at the reception was most courteous, helpful and friendly - she even helped us carry our luggage from the car. The hotel is in a great location with walking distance to the city center. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciate Bianca’s hospitality. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting Bath. "

"The Gainsborough has a beautiful spa area and is very centrally and conveniently located in downtown Bath. The hotel stocks all rooms with soft drinks and water in the mini fridge (a nice touch), and the breakfast offerings are excellent, including both a continental buffet with a cooked to order option. The bar area of the hotel is small and was not well stocked during our visit. Also, some of the staff seemed new and unfamiliar (although polite) with the property, but the concierge as well as the front desk manager, Howard, were wonderful, and made what was a good stay into a great stay. The concierge's restaurant and tour recommendations were wonderful, and the front desk manager assisted our party of four with an issue we encountered with a rude and arrogant guest. The professionalism he demonstrated in handling the situation was commendable. We will be back. "

"Couldn’t fault it. The hotel is ideally situated as a base for sightseeing. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is plentiful with a good choice. The staff go out of their way to help. All in all would thoroughly recommend a stay here"
