Westhaven Motel was an excellent place to stay. Not only was this a wonderful motel in its own right, but it is mere steps from all the glacier guided tour companies in the center of town. Nick (the winter motel manger) made us feel right at home, and was very kind to drive us to Lake Matheson (which saved us a 20 min walk on a very cold day)! Highly recommended.

The motel is somewhat older, but very well maintained and in perfect condition. Large & comfortable rooms, good Wi-Fi. The owner is very helpful and hospitable. We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The motel is off the main road, about halfway between the two main attractions of Fox Glacier village: the glacier and Lake Matheson. We had two sunny days and could see the snow capped peaks of Mount Tasman & Mount Cook from our room.

My first time staying at a Haka House hostel and I was blown away! They kindly let me check in early as my bed was ready and a towel was provided upon request. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm but it felt more like a 4 bed because of the way the room was divided.
