"Rooms looked very tired, carpets were stained "

"I recently stayed at Ibis Nottingham Centre and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. On arrival, the check-in queue was extremely long, and staff did not seem concerned about the delays. When we finally got to the room, our keycard hadn’t been validated properly, meaning we had to go back downstairs and queue all over again. Once we eventually entered the room, we were hit with a strong, unpleasant smell that was reminiscent of foist and vomit embedded in the carpet. It was overpowering and made the room very uncomfortable. It was clear the room had not been properly cleaned. There were visible stains on the walls and carpet, mould around the window, and even urine left in the toilet on arrival. In the end, we only stayed because the bed itself was clean and comfortable, and we had no other option. We also had issues with parking. We followed the hotel’s instructions to validate our ticket, but no discount was applied at the machine. When we called, we were told it was because we scanned rather than inserted the ticket—something that was never explained, resulting in unnecessary extra cost. I did email the hotel management directly after our stay and received no response, which suggests they are not particularly concerned about guest feedback. I have stayed in plenty of ibis hotels previously and whilst always basic, they have never been unclean. I wouldn’t stay here again."

"Helpful and friendly welcome from the staff. It is a great budget-friendly place to get your head down for the night. It is very central but was tucked away enough to feel safe. Be aware that it can be quite cold. There was some litter left on the floor in my room when I arrived. Bathroom was lovely and clean, however. Nice of Igloo to include a towel but would recommend bringing your own. Was very quiet and overall got a comfortable night’s sleep in. There are communal areas to make a free hot drink, but I didn’t have time to enjoy these. Thank you for having me; I would come again."

"Lovely location over lookin Castle and getting around. Comfy bed, lovely thick towels and the white company toiletries. Only complaint our room was opposite lift so you could here it early morning and late at night."

"Old building in center city location. Minimal amenities. Avoid getting a room near a nightclub — you will not be able to sleep."

"I booked hotel on the same day of the stay. It turns out a form must be filled in and completed prior to being allowed in just the hotel reception. Upon finding this detail out as I arrived at the hotel, it was quite the disappointing experience that cannot be matched by having an on site host. Once the information was submitted, followed by a secondary transaction of a significant sum in the reception to act as damage waiver, we were finally granted access to our room. Room was nice but for the price as advertised it cannot compete with a Premier Inn which has a receptionist and breakfast included. Remote receptionist was helpful despite the process; though would be more well served on site "

"Friendly staff throughout stay. Clean room. Good amenities. Car park gets full so arrive early. Lovely garden view. Good area, just off from the main streets. "
