Great location on Kangaroo Point. Superb cafe across the intersection.
It's budget but chic. Bed and shower. Bar fridge and teakettle.
It was perfect for me!
The cliff house at kangaroo is A BUDGET ACCOMMODATION HOUSE/MOTEL. the staff do not hassle the clients the staff are only too happy to be of service when needed but you don't really need them except for check in. The cleaner is a friendly person. The gentleman who owns it busts his butt maintaining the premises. There are beautiful mannered elderly people living there long term and they are looked after and they know that they are cared about. It is fairly quiet considering the amount of people in the area. Yes it's a four star system in my opinion it could be better and it could be slot worse. The air con is excellent the showers have excellent heat and pressure. You can feed the brush tailed possums out the back I counted four in a 50 square metres area last night. Total cost of 5 nights stay $580 that is the cheapest deal I could find.
With this place, you really get what you pay for, the room was small, no windows, the walls looked like they needed to be repainted, the shower didn't seem to be cleaned in quite a while, the smoke alarms kept going off all night..
At least the bed was comfortable!
I didnt really deal with staff, I called up to try and organise a late check in and I was rushed on the phone, "Yeah, you'll get an email. Okay??? Byeeeeee." No email... only for me to call up another 2 to 3 times until it finally got sorted.. like I said, you get what you pay for.

Tv did not work room was not what it looked like in the advertisement. It really is only at a 1 or 2 star rating but I was not expecting much better for an overnight cheap price in that location

We liked that it was affordable for us and close to Kangaroo Point cliffs and cafe. It seems like a little old boarding house and has a very long history. The reception staff were very friendly. The room was clean and simple.
I nearly froze during the night as there was only one blanket per bed and the air conditioner while letting me set it to 30 degrees did not work. I tried to ring the office number but because I had come home late, around 11pm no one answered. The office staff let me know they could have provided more blankets early in the evening if I had asked. If I had have been warm it would have been a nice stay.
I was concerned that it sounded like people were running around on the floor above us, all night. We have no idea what the sounds were coming from and were grateful that it had high ceilings.
The room has the same layout in design as the advertised image but that image was perhaps photoshopped with different paint work, bed linen and blind. The room has a simple curtain.
The shower was simple and had good hot water. Coffee satchels and milk was provided, it would be nice to include some tea bags too.
If anyone wanted to stay here and were worried about security I wouldn't stay here as anyone could walk up the lane and into the B house. The door to our room had a simple press the button in lock.
This very budget accomodation was perfectly located for our needs. A bus stop is directly in front. Lovely cafe on Kangaroo Point Cliffs is a 200m walk as is the historic Pineapple Hotel. The room provided good air conditioning and adequate bed and bathroom. Only able to access ABC on TV. Recommend taking own pillow. The room is old, not well maintained or cleaned. Only recommend if you need a cheap bed - don't expect more.
The staff where lovely and very accommodating. However the shower, bathroom and around the bathroom door had black mold, if you touched it, it rubbed part of it off so try not to touch the walls. The water pressure was terrible and the shower head was broken. The bed was like laying in a metal trolley, you could feel every spring and i thought we where getting a king bed but we had 2 king singles pushed together. The bedding and lining consisted of a bottom and top sheet, a blanket that was as thin as a sheet, 2 thin pillows and 1 towel for 2 people. I came home with bruised hips, shoulder's and bum from the bed.

I had no great expectations. It happened to be an exceptionally busy weekend, and most hotels were charging $1000 per night, so this one at $100 was definitely a bargain. The property was not impressive, being old and dilapidated. But the room was a surprise. Despite the rust and peeling paint, the room was very clean. The bed was super comfortable for my troubled back, the sheets were quality, and the one towel was large and thick. A bath mat would have helped, and given the many power points, a bedlamp would have been an easy attribute. For an old place, the AC was modern, and the shower fittings were clearly new and quality. I felt comfortable and safe, and I overlooked the scruffiness because of the money I was saving. I would choose this room again, because it was so clean
Check in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful but the photos in the listing are very out of date, the condition is a lot more run down than shown.
The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired (there were still loose beard trimmings on the hand basin showing it hadn't even been wiped). I guess you get what you pay for, but I still would have expected a cleaner room for that price. Also, the free wifi didn't reach my room, although youtube on the tv worked fine.
I did like the man at reception that called a cab for me.
I didn't enjoy the dirty room, water damaged bathroom, dishwashing brush as a toilet brush, a peice of wire as the toilet paper holder, the tap on the basin that moved, the dirty shower and screen, mould, bathroom door rotting, coffee on the kitchenette, unknown liquid in the fridge, window screens damaged and dirty floor. Not to mention the uncovered electrical points and stains on walls.
However, I didn't die, and was always welcomed at the entrance, (that smelt like wet carpet), by an elderly man without a shirt who would smile and say, "welcome to paradise ".
The shower was dirty like someone had just taken their stuff out so I could use it. Lids on the floor of the shower and shampoo rings and not too clean. Bed seemed to be okay but the room had a very mouldy smell could only have been the mattress as there wasn’t anything else in the room. Hallway was very smoky from smoking guests. Air conditioning was nice and cold. Parking was okay when I first arrived but after going out to dinner and returning had to park 3 blocks away and thus had to cart all my stuff 3 blocks back to the car in the morning. For supplied parking was very limited. Don’t say you have parking if you don’t have sufficient.
Made a double booking by mistake and the owner/management went out of their way to make sure I got my money back for the unused booking.
Place was convenient to public transport
