Large family beach house walking distance to shops, beaches and hotel.

  • Straddie House is a spacious home ideal for families, with separate living areas so everyone can spread out and relax. Kids will love their own games room, complete with a table tennis table, while adults can unwind upstairs or head outside to the covered outdoor entertaining area with a gas BBQ overlooking the private garden and lawn.

    The home comfortably sleeps a group with two queen beds and four singles, and offers two bathrooms for convenience. The kitchen is well equipped for easy meals, featuring a dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso machine (please bring your own capsules). For longer stays, you’ll have access to a washing machine and dryer.

    Entertainment is well covered with TV, DVD player, Foxtel and a CD player, and the home is fitted with flyscreens and pedestal fans to keep things comfortable. Outside, the fully fenced backyard makes it a great option for families, and parking is easy with a garage plus off-street parking for two additional cars.

    Straddie House is truly a relaxed, family-friendly space with room to play, unwind and enjoy time together.

Awesome Location and Facilities

Seamless check in process and open communication with the property managers. We had a range of people stay with us including elderly parents, teenagers and young children. There was something for everybody! Walking distance to the shops, beaches, walks and the pub. Loved the house layout and the amenities available to use. Will be booking again!

A Great Family Getaway

We were a group of two families (4 adults, 14, 11, 8, 5) looking to spend some quality time together. The house was in a fantastic location, right across the road from the convenience store/supermarket and within walking distance of Cylinder and Dead Man’s Beach, and even Point Lookout. Check-in was easy and we were even able to arrange a late check out. The house had a great layout for our group - one queen room and two twin rooms (with an adjoining door) on the top floor, a queen room and main living area and kitchen on the middle floor, and large rumpus with table tennis table on the ground/entry floor - heaps of room for everybody whether to relax or have fun. The house was well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery, and kitchenware for large family bbqs/meals. While some aspects of the house were a little worn/tired, it was a wonderful place which met our needs perfectly.

The house is easy walking distance from the flagged swimming beach, Blue Room cafe and Beach Hotel and is literally across the road from the small supermarket. We would stay there again in a hearbeat!

Straddie House

The house is very nice, great for eight people. The location is good but the neighbours noise travels directly into the front bedroom. Not good if the neighbours are noisy. Cleaning could be improved and maintenance on the house would improve it.

This house is in a great location. Backyard is nice, but no cover if it rains... The fridge is large, but doesn't get cold (we had to use eskies)wouldn't want to keep food in it for longer than a couple of days. you do need to bring EVERYTHING with you- hand soap, tea towels, washing liquid, wash clothes (but we were told this before coming). overall, good stay, close to beach and shops :)

Needs some serious TLC to bring it up to scratch.

Booked Straddie House as a pet friendly place to stay. I had assumed this meant pets inside, but found I was mistaken, which was perhaps my mistake. However, while the back yard is secure and large enough, in storm season there was no protection for the dog, which was disappointing. Cleanliness could have been better. A number of pots and pans had caked on black on their bases, and needed scrubbing before use. The kitchen stove wasn't properly cleaned. The BBQ was dirty, and uncleaned from whomever used it last. The second fridge was dirty, and the first didn't cool properly, needing servicing, causing the loss of quite a bit of food (and forcing us to use my Engel as a frdge). While the agents were quick to get it regassed, the door seals were shot on both fridges (the one in the laundry were shredded and torn, as well as filthy) and it was only a quick fix, which will happen again. Upstairs queen bed was 2 smaller beds stuck together, and was horrible. The springs had gone, and I woke every morning with an aching back from the deep hollow in the centre. Otherwise, the place needs some TLC from the owners pretty badly. Screens not sliding, and popping out of frames, door catches failing, lights blown throughout the house, rear yard unkept and needing work, and the general feel of tiredness throughout. It's on the market for sale, and shows it big time. For a big family not too fussed at cleanliness, it might be fine. Personally, I thought it overpriced for the condition, and the owners need to do some real work to bring it up to scratch, for the premium being charged for renting it. Wouldn't stay there again, I'm sorry.

Really enjoyed our stay

The house was large and welcoming with plenty of room for all. It had everything you would need and recent renovations look good. I really enjoyed sitting out in the bbq area under the trees, very relaxing! The location was excellent, walking distance to Cylinder and Deadman's beach and not far to Point Lookout. Best of all, only 1 minute from Bob's shop for all those things you always forget.

Will Stay Again

We had a wonderful stay. The house was well-maintained and clean with plenty of space and a large outdoor area. We mainly cooked for ourselves and found the kitchen well-appointed with everything we needed. The house is in a great position, within easy walking distance of beaches, shops and food outlets. We will definitely stay at Straddie House again.
