"The main areas of the hotel have clearly had a refurb and were nice. The room was very tired and need of TLC. It was not clean, the bathroom in particular was very dirty with dust, dirt and hair all over from previous occupants. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable and room too warm but no means to cool. "This was not our first visit to the Grosvenor hotel in chester, as it is closing on 30th september for a couple of years to renovate.so we booked two lovely rooms in april to stay 1 night at the end of september, on arrival we soon found out our stay was not as we hoped it may be, there was an heritage package that we were not made known to on arrival. therefore there was only 1 menu we could choose from, asked a bottle of wine was told that could not order a bottle but could order by the glass...
