The White Swan

8/10 Good

"Very good welcome to the White Swan. Our room was compact and comfortable. Despite being next to the entrance door and stairs we had a peaceful night's sleep. They had noted my request and provided us with a room with an easily accessible walk- in shower. I would suggest looking at the position of the toilet as it is very close to the wall and hand rail making access challenging. The sliding bathroom door didn't close completely leaving a 6 inch gap, this was resolved the next morning after reporting to reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal."

"I was a bit worried about staying here having read some 'iffy' reviews, but I needn't of. For being a 3 star hotel I thought it was great. Location was perfect, breakfast was good, lovely choice of food. Our room was good and overlooked the cathedral. The bed was very hard so we asked for a mattress topper which they put on for us. It didn't make difference and we still had 3 nights of not sleeping through the night and waking up in pain!! Could also have done with a hairdryer on the room, but requested one and it came really quickly. The lady on reception who checked us in was fabulous and no complaints with any other member of staff. All in all it was a great stay and we would definitely stay again."

"I have to leave a review as I was so impressed here. From first moment I was welcomed by Sue in reception, to the moment I checked out. I loved the room, the ladies at breakfast, the efficient bar staff, the food, the room service, the pool, it was all just as a hotel should be. I made a mistake with my booking and had inadvertently booked one night instead of the intended two, but Michelle phoned me and we sorted it out. The hotel and facilities are great, but the staff are *all* outstanding. Seriously."

10/10 Excellent

"Breakfast choices were excellent. Parking was adjacent and plentiful. All staff we met were good. The room (139) felt a bit weary, the beds not particularly comfortable. The shower was over a bath, ok, but the bath sides were very high for people with stiff legs. One lamp was not working, the toilet flush handle was loose on the wall. Nothing dreadful but could be improved."
