"We missed our first night due to being stranded by fog on the Isles of Scilly. So our stay wasn’t as long as we had hoped. I called ahead and, while understandable, it was unfortunate that we couldn’t get compensation for the night we missed given they managed to rent the room to someone else. Also, and this is not a criticism of this particular property., just a general comment fir all. Having bus and train schedules available would be brilliant. "Overall we had a lovely stay. The location cannot be beaten and is just around the corner from the market square. Parking is not so convenient and we did park about 5 minutes walk away and had to pay but it is a reasonable price. The bed was comfortable. We had an issue with the coffee machine which was quickly sorted via text as there are no staff members present on the property. We knew about this before arriving. "I felt like visiting family. Lorne House and the hosts Bob and Liz have really created that aura 'home away from home'. The cozy and warm room, the welcoming and personal service, the fresh and delicious breakfast, the small but informative chats, and much more. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend this home (not a house) for any couple who would like to stay in Bath for 3-4 nights. Thank you, Bob and Liz! "

"Really enjoyed our short stay here. Lovely room with an adjoining small room with writing table and chair. It does have about six wooden stairs inside the bedroom door which would not be suitable for some. The choice of breakfast items was really good many different cereals, cheeses ham and fruit. Owner very nice."

"Interesting experience! Great location and value for Central Bath - both the room and parking. Would have given more stars except for these niggles: Tried to book parking in advance and as other reviews say got nowhere… On arrival we were early for check-in but called the mobile number provided at the hotel, arranged parking and room key so all ok (we thought…) , then a slight hiccup getting in at end of our evening but was quickly sorted when I messaged and was sent a very helpful video!...

"A lovely 2 day break at the lakes, so peaceful and relaxing. Spa is great too and we pretty much had it to ourselves most of the time. Food in the tipi was also great, would have liked to have seen some more sweet breakfast and healthy options though. It would also be great if there was an on-site shop to buy any groceries/essentials to save having to drive elsewhere."

"Myself and my partner stayed here for a friends wedding. It was perfect - we got the family room just so we had a bit more space. The kitchen was very functional, had all we needed, so we just brought the food. The bed was comfortable, clean and convenient bathroom. I liked the easy access to the room that didnt require a physical key. "This is a really wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped through the front door, there was such a lovely warm welcoming friendly feel to the place. The staff were all wonderful, too many to mention by name, but every one of them being extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Emma, on reception, really made this place as she was friendly, bubbly, always happy and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 11, which was a feature room overlooking the garden and this was an extremely spacious room, beautifully decorated. We will definitely be returning to Stratton house Hotel & Spa. "

"We chose this place because it was close to the City of Bath - but not in the City, and its on the River. It's a beautiful spot, the Old Mill waterwheel still runs, it's super peaceful. There is a restaurant, the food and service were great - even though the Chef only started a week ago. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Highly recommend the Old Mill Hotel in Bath."

"My only negative would be the beautiful exterior being hid by the scaffolding as they were having work done. That and the hike up the hill from the train station. We should have called an Uber. Delightful staff and enjoyable morning breakfast in the hotel. Nice comfy room and bathroom. "
