Exploring the forts of Brean Down.

Following the walk atop the ridge where you get some great views over weston, you come across run down bunkers scattered along the cliff face. The original buildings are 18th century but there are also remaining WW2 forts. There's lots of information down there about the site's history and It's fascinating to see how nature is reclaiming these buildings.

I definitely recommend checking out these out these pieces of history. :)

There are plenty of places to go walking and the farm dogs are lovely characters, the hosts were so lovely and helpful too. When we arrived there was a vase of fresh flowers and also flapjacks which the kids loved! It was so comfortable there we didn’t want to go home and we are definitely coming back next...
