"The location of the hotel was perfect with views of the harbour and the lymington sea water baths are in walking distance . The hotel has free parking ,staff are friendly and helpfull. Our room was very clean and of a high standard . There was a good selection for breakfast to suit all tastes. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Mayflower hotel."

"Beautifully decorated throughout. Breakfast was very good and staff were very polite and helpful. The only thing I would make everyone aware of is that car park isn’t on sight of the hotel but at the opposite side of the road through an alleyway and it’s very small so we weren’t able to get a space so had to pay for the long stay car park which cost us over £10 in all and it would have been a nice gesture if the hotel offered to compensate those who can’t get into their car park. "A rather old fashioned, maybe even quirky, hotel. It has undergone extensive refurbishment over the past few years. We always stay in a superior sea view room so I can’t comment on the others, although I know the family rooms are good. Good choice of breakfast items. A long list of cocktails at the bar but I haven’t sampled them. Ideal location for events on Southsea Common."

"The hotel is not inspiring on the outside but is well situated for trains, buses and travel to the Isle of Wight. It has the feel of a run-down hotel which is in the process of being up-graded by the present owners. We were in the west wing, the rooms were very tired and need doing up, though they were clean and thats important, the hotel is in the process of of a makeover in the west wing area but that just seemed to be the corridors, hopefully the rooms will follow.
