The room is very convenient for walking around Boston - and is right next to Boston University (noise). Unfortunately the noise from the city (sirens, traffic, yelling, etc) and light were very loud/noticeable. The room has only metal blinds and would greatly benefit from room darkening, heavy curtains to help eliminate some of that. Everything was clean. We didn't use the kitchen, so I cannot speak to its benefits. The bed was comfortable, and the room had what was necessary (seating, towels, etc). The host was very quick to answer messages. Be alert that check-in instructions will be sent via messages through Expedia (I don't keep a check on email/Expedia, so we had missed several attempts to communicate). The door code we were sent did not work on the back door, but it was fine for the front, so we simply used it there. Make sure to check all the property details - THERE IS NO ELEVATOR!! We were only in Boston 2 nights, so the room was okay. Honestly not sure I would stay here again simply because of the light and noise intrusion.

Thanks for a great stay in Boston!

Excellent location near Boston University, bars, restaurants, etc and just a few minute walk to Fenway. We had the downstairs suite which was extremely roomy and had a full kitchen. While there was no front desk, the reservation team was responsive, polite and helpful.

The room is nice and the bed was very comfortable... even the pillows were amazing! The nespresso coffee was delicious and perfect for the cold day. We also enjoyed the fireplace. It was very comfortable. The only problem was the room they gave me was not the room I paid for. I spent $400extra to have a bigger room with extra amenities but got a smaller room. It was a hassle trying to find a resolution with the online property but in the end Expedia switched me to another hotel with everything I wanted and Charlesgate did reimburse me. I might book here again but I don't want to go through the hassle of my room being given to another person.

Beautiful!

My daughter and I stayed here for a couple days while she was checking out BU. It’s a great location near the university. Beautiful old building and recently renovated. We contacted the hotel a couple times and they were quick to respond and very friendly. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Stayed in the one bedroom suite with family of 5, it was a perfect stay. Suite was beautifully decorated and bed was as comfortable as my bed at home. Kitchen had everything we needed for dinner in. Close to T and Fenway, area felt very safe and walkable with kids. Utilized parking out back which was convenient. Would definitely stay again when visiting Boston.

Boston Charm with Great Location

We loved the location of the Charlesgate Suites. You're a couple of blocks away from the Kenmore station which is located on the green line for the T which allows you to get to basically an part of Boston. Our family enjoyed the charm of this brownstone home as it felt reflective of Boston's character itself, but the interior has been updated for comfort. If we're to visit Boston again we'd certainly consider staying at Charlesgate Suites again.

We had an excellent stay, it was nice and clean. The location was amazing. The service had some slight hiccups with communication but overall very good and helpful when needed. It did get warm in the room at times because the AC couldn’t stay at a certain temperature consistently, but not to a point where it was uncomfortable. Would definitely recommend and would come back if we ever visit Boston again.

Good location with a short walk to lots of shopping , food and architecture. Modern clean room with functional kitchen . Bathroom has radiant heat flooring. If I had to pick at any minor issues it would be the noise as a result of facing the highways (I liked it but others in my family didnt) and some minor trash around the parking lot area. Overall very satisfied for the price.
