"We had a lovely stay in St. Remy! Gilles and Patricia were wonderful hosts, and the property was adorable. Although we were inside the city center, it felt very quiet and peaceful. I loved the view from the second story bedroom. There was a nearby locked parking spot that was a short distance from the access road circling the town. Follow Gilles directions to drive there, NOT a mapping app (it took me thought the center of the old town, which is a pedestrian area). It was great to be able to walk for coffee and pastries every morning, easily tour the surrounding area during the day (Arles, Nimes, Avignon, and the coast were all less than an hour drive), and then be home in time for dinner and an evening stroll around town. One caution is that the wifi on the property was not great. I usually like being less connected while on holiday, but it was a bit tricky to videochat family at home. We were lucky enough to be in town during the Transhumance, which was a treat."

"Valerie was a charming and helpful host - every thing in the house was high quality and super clean, the pool was fantastic and outside furniture and bbq superb. The location was brilliant 200m from boulangerie and deli and small rotisserie and just 10 mins walk into town, where there are plenty of restaurants! You could even get away without a car. It was probably amongst the best two / three places we have stayed in, in over twenty years of travelling to France. Highly recommend."

"A small farmhouse that has been restored with great taste. It lies on a plateau just outside the charming town of St-Remy; just a few minutes drive will bring you to shops, bars, restaurants and petrol stations. There are views to the Alpilles from the top of the plateau and several tracks in the surrounding nature reserve. Inside was plesantly warm during our stay (mid-March), with two reversible air-conditioning units and a lovely wood-pellet-burning stove that heated up the main rooms very quickly. The kitchen had everything you need to make a good meal and of course the view out of the window is stunning! The beds are comfortable (although we found the pillows too soft, but that's a personal thing), the rooms are dark once the shutters are closed. The upstairs bathroom door lies at the turn of the staircase so we used a torch at night. People more than 1.80m high might find the beams and the sloping ceilings upstairs a bit of a nuisance too. These are just minor niggles and did not at all spoil a wonderful week. St-Remy is well placed for trips to stunning places within one hour's drive; we went to the walled town of Aigues-Mortes, the hilltop citadel of Les Baux,an ornithological park in the Camargue to see flamingos and the magical Pont du Gard. Avignon and Villeneuve would also be reachable but we know them well already. Genevieve lives in the big farm next door and is a terrific hostess, quick to reply and solve any problems. A little French would be helpful."
