I loved my stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the bed was very comfortable. It is a historic building so the doors are creaky and the stairs are narrow but this just gives it character. If you are in the area it is a great place to stay.

We stayed to go to a wedding at the Manor over the road. (Really handy to be able to walk to that). Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pub except for breakfast in the morning which was really good, but the pub looked good. Rooms were clean and cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice sandwich shop/deli 2 doors down. Some early morning plane noise (under the flight path to Birmingham airport?), so if you are a light sleeper it might be worth bringing earplugs. Nice place overall, and we'd stay there again.

Room was clean and the bathroom was decent. The beds were a bit squeaky which was a little disruptive for sleeping but they were comfortable.

Nice quiet location but the room was tiny, too small to be called comfortable, getting in and out of the shower was a task in itself. Due to the low water pressure in the building the shower was very weak. The bed was comfy and I slept ok. No wifi in room. Miniscule tv. Staff were friendly, service was good and the food in the pub was reasonable. Would not pay £125 for this room again.

Stay at the white lion.

Second time we have stayed here and both times have been excellent. The quintessential English country pub that does excellent b and b. The staff are friendly and efficient, the evening meal and breakfasts are superb. Highly recommend.

Great pub inn.

This is a super pub inn in a small village not too far from the M42 and Solihull. Excellent service, good breakfast and a clean, comfortable room. I would definitely recommend a stay here. They also serve food in the evening.

Parking was tight as it was a Saturday night. The evening staff were very busy so checking took a while. It would have been useful to know the time of breakfast instead of queuing to ask. The bin in the bathroom hadn’t been emptied from the previous occupants. The breakfast was good and the person serving was pleasant.

a great end to my holiday

A perfect end to my holiday. easy to get to from Birmingham airport and back on the motorway quickly the next morning. Friendly, clean, comfortable and excellent cooked breakfast.

We had a really pleasant stay despite the persistent rain. The evening meals were both tasty and good value. Decent selection of ales and spirits. We stayed in one of the bungalows which met all our needs

Lovely little place

Lovely little pub with rooms, all very comfortable and clean. I was in the annex building which had been tastefully renovated. Everything you might want and a fab breakfast to boot.

Lovely pub with rooms, staff always welcome, pub grub great, perfect stop for travelling to Birmingham Airport only 4.5 miles away. Second visit this time we were in one of the garden rooms (9) it was quite small, nowhere to sit other than on the bed, nothing can be done to change that but worth a mention, last time we stayed we were in the pub, room slightly bigger, the other thing that could be a small fix, bottle of water in the room as the kettle doesn’t fit under the tap, would improve comfort. Overall good stay.

Friendly environment.

We had a room outside the actual pub, so it was very quiet and enjoyable. The staff are naturally happy and friendly, that's what comes from a family run business. Will be staying there again the next time we need to go to the NEC, which is only a few minutes drive away.

I would definitely stay here again. It was a welcome retreat situated in a pretty village location. I was staying overnight on my own and didn't want to stay in one of the busy large chain hotels. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the pub was typically traditional. My only grumble was the walls were very thin, i had someone staying in the room above, and you could hear every footstep.

Great place to stay. Friendly and quaint

A friend recommended the White Lion to us as a great place to stay that was handy for the NEC. We enjoy real ale and they served a number of different ales - we tried 2 and they were both excellent and obviously well kept. We ate very well too. We loved the character of the place, from mismatched chairs to pretty china. The staircase to the bedrooms is very steep and our bedroom had a step down into the bathroom. It was warm and cosy and we had lovely big bath towels. We loved our stay and would be very happy to stay here again.
