All the staff was incredible, very friendly and supporting our needs.
The place has an amazing dining room and bar, the atmosphere is very pleasant and it is super close to the Villa Park which makes it great.
Compact, basic but very clean , staff were friendly and helpful, ideal for stopover or for contractors looking for reliable clean accommodation,

The room was very clean and the evening staff were very friendly. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we were going to the Horse of the year show at the NEC and needed to get there early
Me qnd my friend travelled from glasgow and we got there an hour before checkin our room wasnt ready which was fine but staff went above and beyond to get our room ready so we could get in as soon as possible staff were lovely had no issues if ever in Birmingham again would stay again
It's not the Ritz but it does the job. Room was clean and comfortable. It's attached to an Aston Villa social club so if you stay on a match day, like I did, expect it to be crowded a noisy.
Very attentive staff.
Parking.
Close to Villa Park.

Great location for Villa
Convenient stay for Villa home game. Lovely friendly staff easy check in and check out.
Very thin walls and loud slamming doors but we knew it’d be busy with a Saturday night Villa game so we weren’t too bothered by it!
Everything was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful and nice. The food and drinks were definitely a bonus if you don't want to go far. The doors and walls are a little thin so you could hear other guests and housekeeping moving about at all hours of the day and night. Conveniently located close to the train station.

Pros: great location for Villa Park and an even better price point compared to others in the area.
Cons: virtually underneath the A38 so traffic noises from rumble strips is always there so light sleepers may want to carry earplugs. No kettle in the room but you can fetch hot drinks complimentary whilst the bar is open but may make your first cuppa of the day late. Only one iron for all guests, iron before you leave home. Couldn’t find there was any WiFi in the room I was in and isn’t the best signal either on the phone.

Good Budget Hotel in Aston, Birmingham
This is a budget hotel that delivers on their promise. You can park at the hotel premises, free of charge, and the check-in was easy. The room was basic but clean and the furniture functional (desk, tool, bedside table). Good TV with cable access to Netflix etc. The Wi-Fi was a hit and miss but I connected via my phone hotspot and could work all evening. Michelle (energetic and helpful manager) was very friendly and helpful. I ordered dinner /drinks for my room. Note that there is no tea/coffee tray in the room but you can get those free of charge from the bar. The bathroom was clean and toiletries were provided, a nice touch for a budget hotel. The room was well heated and the bed comfortable. This is all I expected for the price I paid. Only suggestion: walls could do with a fresh coat of paint in places.

Room for improvement
I'm very torn about writing this review, because it is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for, so I wasn't expecting a palace. But cleanliness should be great as standard, whether you're in a 2 star or a 5 star, and the room could have been cleaner. The carpet clearly had not been hoovered, and we never heard a hoover once throughout our stay, it sounded like the staff used a brush to sweep the carpet in the room above ours. Could have done with two pillows on each bed, as only one provided and very thin. The shower head in the bathroom was an actual bio-hazard (which I have a photo of, but a glitch isn't letting me upload it). Given the staff were so genuinely lovely and clearly doing their best to give a fantastic and friendly service, we chose not to complain, as we didn't want to spoil the tone of our stay given we were there for more than one night. The cooked breakfasts were absolutely fantastic and brilliant value, could not fault them in any way, and the staff we met were all great. I would have given 4 starts for sure with just a couple of issues addressed.
At first glance, the inn didn’t feel welcoming, but I must commend the staff for their excellent and friendly service. Unfortunately, this is where the positives ended for me.
It’s not a hotel in the traditional sense but more of a bar with some rooms attached. The room I stayed in was far from suitable. The mattress was unbearably hard, the window frame had black mold, and the overall condition made it feel uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the amenities were not close by, and the walls were so thin that it felt like they were made of paper mâché. Sleep was impossible, thanks to someone deciding to play the trumpet in the middle of the night.
As for the New Year’s Eve event, the DJ could use some improvement. The excessive bass drowned out the actual songs, making it hard to enjoy the music.
Oh and the doors lock at 11pm so have fun navigating the piss poor construction site at the back of the car park.
In summary, while the staff was great, the experience was let down by poor accommodations and noise issues. Wouldn’t recommend unless improvements were made.

We booked a twin room and my heart sank when we saw the room we were allocated. I felt immediately totally depressed. The main wall was grubby with holes and marks as if a child had drawn over it. The mattress on the beds were of poor quality and the window was ill fitting and the very cold air was coming in so we were sure that we would have a very uncomfortable stay. We were also aware of the noise from the flyover. The Aston Inn is near enough under a flyover. We asked about using the wall heater and the staff who came to address that, offered us another room which was much better and there was less traffic noise. The room and bathroom were spacious but there was no shelf, rail or hook in the bathroom. No kettle provided to make a hot drink so we had to ask for a hot drink at the bar. Although complimentary, it was very inconvenient as there was no provision after the bar closed. We had heavy footsteps over us late into the first night. The staff were pleasant and helpful and willing to bring food to our room.
The Aston Inn is not in a pleasant location but it is clean inside the establishment
