We arrived exhausted from travels and could not wait to settle in our "cozy cabin", relax and freshen up before heading out to dinner. We had to take an Uber up the mountain so naturally, we were dropped off at the address of our reservation.
The host stated we would receive entry information 2 hours prior to check in. We did not. Instead, as we were walking around looking for our cabin a custodian came to us with the host on speaker phone. We were informed there was a problem with our cabin and our reservation had been switched to another property. An "upgrade" they insisted.
We had to walk on the side of a dangerous main street with all of our belongings "around the corner". It truly seemed like we walked half a mile at least. THE HOST SHOULD HAVE OFFERED TO GIVE US A RIDE SINCE IT WAS THEIR NEGLIGENCE WHICH PUT US IN THE SITUATOIN TO BEGIN WITH. Please keep in mind, we were already exhausted and as you all know... the relief of entering your reserved stay and putting your things down after a long day of travel is EVERYTHING.
The cabin was not all that and did not seem like an upgrade since:
* The jet tub was dirty, broken and basically useless.
* Our bed did not have a fitted sheet. It was a regular sheet underneath us so as you can imagine- it was a pain in the ass to keep adjusting the bedding through the night.
*There were 2 of us. We had 2 large towels AND ONLY 1 SMALL WASHCLOTH.
*The shampoo AND the soap were empty.
*My feet were black walking on the dirty floor.
