The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, the breakfasts amazing, the staff always happy to help and the location just off the A590 was perfect for exploring the whole Lake District. My only rejoinder was that the stairs to the rooms are a little challenging for someone like me who is mobility impaired. Additional banisters and/or handles would greatly help but I managed overall and we were very happy with our stay. Evening meals were exceptional too. Wonderful staff, and a beautiful hotel and location.

This old manor home has been a hotel for a long time and it has a certain old world feel. But it's well-managed, comfortable, and the setting is fantastic. We had long walks on the beachfront (it's a unique sandy waterway), blustery rain, and a lovely walk into town for a nice dinner. Don't miss sitting in the lounge/library with a good book looking out over the front lawn. I would love to spend a week here with rainy days and big thick books to read.

Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. Great breakfast and close to Lake Windermere

It was a nice experience and we really enjoyed it. The room was clean, staff was nice, and food was exquisite. I highly recommend Brown horse inn. Nice view.
