I went to Mont Ventoux a year after the Tour de France used it on their route, but you could still admire the graffiti on the road! The lower slopes are wooded, but half way up you arrive to a barren moonscape - according to the car temperature gauge it was 10 degrees at the foot of the hill and -4 by the time we got half way up.

"We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July. We were shown to our bedroom at the end of a corridor. After the door there are 2 steps up to the accommodation level but no further door beyond these steps. During the night my wife woke up to go to the bathroom. As there was no lighting, and she was in an unfamiliar environment, she mistook the space above the steps to be the entrance to the bathroom. "It was the best hotel. Best service! They were Amazing! They had pajamas for us, a beautiful note, a beautiful bag with a notebook & some items I. There. There was a hat! When we were leaving they had a bag with lauder cookies, they made us tags with our initials on the it for our luggage’s. The best hotel!!"
