"Reception service was good and room was in good quality. We also visited the bar, which was a bit hit and miss. At first the service was good, but then the bar staff forgot to come back to us for a drinks order. Then they started to clear away the table lamps towards the end of the evening. When asked if they were closing the bar, the answer was “no, I’m just tidying up”. We didn’t mind them removing the ones at all the unoccupied tables, but rather thought they might have left the one on our table! Oh well….! A minor grip, but does make you question the levels of training."

Hollins Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf

"Hollins Hall is a beautiful property and we have stayed there a few times in the past. The grounds are well maintained and the hotel offers a bar and restaurant. Our room was clean, but basic and with the usual tea and coffee options. There was no bottled water provided, which would have been appreciated, and no refrigerator. I thought the bathroom amenities were somewhat lacking compared to other hotels, but we managed with what was there. We checked out early in the morning, so I can't comment on breakfast. We did not used any of the on site facilities because we were in the area for a funeral. Hollins Hall is special in it's secluded location, and I would recommend choosing a room that has all the options you require for your stay."

"Leeds Marriott was a little hard to find both on foot or by cab as it's hidden in a square off the main drag. However this is a good thing for lack of noise. The room was good. I had the in-house breakfast although it was not particularly memorable. The dining area was very dimly lit for some reason."

"Efficient and friendly staff at reception, made check in easy. Stayed in a double room which had tea and coffee available, but no biscuits though. Good size desk for working on, with plenty of sockets including USB points as well as more socket/USB by the bed, which is always handy. wifi had a very good signal and easy to connect to. Fridge, iron, ironing board, safe and hair dryer also in the room. Shower was ok, large area but could be more powerful. Water was hot and bottles of soap/shampoo were available, although the soap was empty so I would recommend checking before taking a shower. A good size Buffet Breakfast was available with a good selection of items, but as seems to be normal these days, the temperature was warm rather than hot for the food. Very clean room, as well as communal areas, and an efficient A/C unit in the room too. Large TV with good selection of channels. The only real issue is that there is no parking or discount available. Trinity is close by but at £38+ for overnight, it was nearly half the cost of the room."
