"Fantastic cozy hotel next to the jungle. You can see beautiful animals wandering the grounds, and csn go on a wonderful small hike right next to the hotel. The restaurant is also excellent (loved the ceviche and bisque) and the rooms comfy and with air conditioning."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Laguna lodge, the staff were amazing and the family pool was lovely, they also make great cocktails, with bars at both pools and also a lovely bar over looking the lagoon. The only negative for us was the restaurant, the food was ok but buffet cycled through two options over two nights, so was a bit repetitive if staying for more than two nights and not many options for a vegetarian, however there were many great dining options in the town, which is a 30 minute walk away, or you can take a water taxi. Something we didn’t know was that there were no option in Tortuguero to get cash and all the taxi boats were cash only. There were also many great tours available locally, we particularly enjoyed a night time turtle tour seeing the green turtles come to shore to lay eggs and also a daytime tour where we were lucky to see the babies hatching, we stayed there in September."

"This is a little gem of a place. The rooms are basic but comfortable, the foods limited but for where you are, this is not surprising. The wildlife & staff really made it. The staff where really accommodating. In a two night stay in the property's gardens we saw, lots of iguana's, tocan's, green macaw's & a howler monkey. On the beach, we saw baby leatherback turtles & on a paid trek, green turtles nesting. "

"We loved the views , but what we didn't love was the owner trying to make us pay double , when we had already paid through Hotels.com , I was not impressed , then they tried to make us pay for breakfast which was complimentary . facilities barely any . Lovely view ."

"This property has a central location in the small village that is easily walkable to the main attractions and less than a 5 min walk from where the small ferry boats arrive. It has a very small clean pool, fridge and coffee making facilities. It was well priced and we preferred to spend the extra money on the tours. Air-conditioning was perfect. There is a well priced supermarket on the corner and an ice-cream shop and cafe just a few doors down. It is on the way to the night turtle tour. We enjoyed it as a family of 5"

"We were upgraded to a bungalow which looked great and was extremely spacious. We felt like we were staying in the middle of the jungle. Pool area was lovely with loads of wildlife. Only downside was that the shower lacked any power."

"Our stay at The Caribbean Paradise lodge was very pleasant, the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The grounds are very clean , lots of wildlife you can hear and see. It is 10 minutes away from Tortuguero village by taxi boat, but the staff is always ready to help with that. There is no AC but the fan in the room was sufficient and we had comfortable nights and slept well enjoying the sounds of nature . The breakfast was included and is an open buffet, you can arrange to buy lunch and dinner which are made on the property . We would love to go again . "

"Tortuguero is such a cute town! We weren’t sure we wanted to make the drive but we loved it. The boat ride from La Pavona is beautiful and the town is great for walking around and shopping. We took a guided night hike and saw a turtle laying eggs on the beach! The staff were very nice and helpful and the air conditioning in the rooms was nice. Only stayed one night but loved it!"
