"Lovely old mountain house with great pizza oven and stone built BBQ. The gardens are great and the pool was amazing. THAT VIEW!! you feel like you are swimming in the mountains. We even saw fire flies at night. "

"The description didn’t do the house justice! This beautiful house is perfect for large groups providing both social areas and privacy. The kitchen was well stocked, the outdoor grill and pizza oven were readily accessible with lots of available wood. Beautiful view from the outdoor area where we enjoyed dinner watching the sunset.Eleanora was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all of our questions.We did find the drive up the mountain to be a bit challenging with the size of vehicle we had (large van for seven adults), but would highly recommend, especially if you’re not planning many day trips."

"La Capanna is the most beautiful villa with wonderful grounds and pool area. The living accommodation is immaculate and well equipped. We had our children ranging from 12-22 with us who loved the pool and wondering into Riana for bread and cheese. Plenty of fun things to do in the surrounding area as well. I recommend canyoning with Toscana Canyon adventures if you have older children. Hennie was there to meet us and on hand for anything we needed. We chose to eat at the villa each night and could have BBQS or cook in the kitchen. The terrace had lovely evening sun for drinks and games as well. What a great place we would love to return "

"We had a large group of friends holiday with families. We rented the entire accommodation. It was clean and tidy and a great location. The views are amazing. A good communal area so we could all be together for cooking meals. The pool area was beautiful and clean. You do need a car for access as it is quite tucked away in the mountain. Local shops and supermarket were easy to drive to. A day trip to pisa/lucca were easy aswell. Overall a great stay and no issues at all. The hosts also popped in and were very pleasant to meet. "

"The house is an absolutely stunning location. Breath taking views every morning, even if the weather did always play ball. There are some lovely areas to walk in and explore nearby and a few very nice local restaurants but these can get booked up very quickly. Even when it was raining we enjoyed our stay as the dense forests provided plenty of cover and there are excellent trips to caves and nearby cities such as Lucca and Barga that are easy drives. The roads in the valley are quite narrow but traffic is generally very light so you I'd recommend not renting an SUV as it makes it much more challenging to pass other cars at points. "
