Did you know that Catalonia, Spain, is full of fantastic wine tasting opportunities? It's not as famous as Spain's La Rioja region, but it's a great place for lovers of the grape to worship.

This particular winery is Oller del Mas, which was actually originally a castle. Today, it's both a castle and a vineyard. Go all the way up to the top to take in spectacular views at sunset of the surrounding countryside and fields of grapevines.

The mountain in the distance is Montserrat, which translates to "serrated mountain" because of its spiky rock formations.

Oller del Mas is located in Manresa, a city an hour's drive outside of Barcelona. Trains run regularly, and take about an hour and a half to get there.

The Castle of Cardona is arguably the most important medieval fortress in Catalonia and one of the most important in Spain. It is situated on a hill overlooking the river valley of the Cardener and the town of Cardona.

The fortress was initially constructed by Wilfred the Hairy in 886. It is in both the Romanesque and Gothic styles, and includes the so-called Sala Dorada and Sala dels Entresols.

"This apartment is managed by a management company. It was the only one where I had to pay a damage deposit (150 Euros) up front. You only get refunded 10-15 days after their confirmation of the way we left it. In our case they refunded when I asked for a status after 13 days. The location is near the metro which is wonderful. "The MSB Apartments is the standard of a 5 Star apartmentl but you feel like you are at home with the kitchen facilities and the extra space to relax. We spent Christmas in NYC with our 5 sons aged 24yrs to 11yrs. We booked one apartment. Loads of space to hang out together between outings and excellent value. We had one issue with Housekeeping which was resolved by Toni, very friendly yet professional and for sure we will return. 👍 "

"It is very conveniently located by 2 metro lines that run along major stops in Barcelona. The apartment had all the basic necessities and was very clean. As a little bonus, the water pressure was good. A variety of local grocery stores, convenience stores and really good tapa restaurants. The only downside is that the walls are thin and you can basically hear everything going on outside. "The apartment was ok, but especially the rugs need a good cleaning. The last renter had not done a very good job cleaning utensils, glasses and dishes so first thing we did was wash everything in the dishwasher. The gas stovetop did not appear to be working, but as we were only there for 2 nights we did not bring this up with the owner, so there is likely a solution to that.
