This particular winery is Oller del Mas, which was actually originally a castle. Today, it's both a castle and a vineyard. Go all the way up to the top to take in spectacular views at sunset of the surrounding countryside and fields of grapevines.

The mountain in the distance is Montserrat, which translates to "serrated mountain" because of its spiky rock formations.

Oller del Mas is located in Manresa, a city an hour's drive outside of Barcelona. Trains run regularly, and take about an hour and a half to get there.

"An amazing place. An hour and a half north of Barcelona and very near Ripoli, lies this peaceful and bucolic retreat from the world. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen and views that don’t stop. My family and I enjoyed two nights here and we would recommend it to anyone. The host and his wife (who live on site) are great and you stay in a renovated 17th century farmhouse passed down in his family. "Nous sommes venus pour faire la course VTT VOLCAT d'Igualada, nous ne sommes resté que 3 jours. Mais le gîte est agréable et bien tranquille dans un petit village à 20-25min d'Igualada. Le propriétaire du gîte est très compréhensif et arrangeant. Le gîte était impeccable avec toutes les commodités. Je recommande !!!"
