Sweetgum Hideaway Home

This 1 bedroom 1 bathroom upstairs apartment is nestled under a sweet gum tree, on the Near East Side. Less than a mile in any direction you'll find grocery stores, restaurants, and nightlife. OU is also conveniently located within a mile. This apartment has new tile and refinished wood flooring throughout, brand new appliances in the kitchenette, and no shortage of charm. It is lightly furnished with a queen size bed, large six drawer dresser, convertible couch, and a sweet dining area for two to four. The bathroom includes a large bathtub for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring. We think our place will be the cherry on top of your Athens experience!

An apartment walkthrough:

Through the main entrance to the apartment, you'll find yourself in a foyer with a door to the left and right, with stairs directly in front of you. Your apartment will be directly up the stairs. The door at the top of the stairs opens up to the main living room area with the kitchen and bedroom to the left and bathroom to the right.

Bathroom: Due to the slope of the ceilings as an attic apartment, the shower is shorter than most. It sits at about 5'6", but can be rotated up or down. A shower stool will be included for use. The ceramic bathtub is large and great for a soak. I have included a bathtub caddy for use with the tub. There is also a large bathroom closet for storage.

Bedroom: The sloping ceilings can also be found in the bedroom, but are not too inconvenient or problematic from my experience. The room has a built in, glass top vanity and a good sized closet with a full length mirror. There is also a large six drawer dresser for extra storage. The queen sized bed includes 100% polyester-free pillows and is covered with natural fiber linens. We aim to minimize plastic use throughout the entire listing and utilize as many natural fibers and products as possible. The window AC unit can be used to cool the entire apartment if the door is left open.

Kitchen: The light switch for the kitchen is located to the right of the refrigerator. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, cups, mugs and flatware for four. It is also equipped with cooking tools of assortment. The appliances include a small apartment sized gas range and refrigerator, a countertop microwave and toaster oven, and a coffee maker and bean grinder as well as a coffee French press machine. There is also a dish drying rack stowed until necessary for use since it is a small kitchen space.

Living room: The living room area has a convertible futon couch that folds into a double bed. The sheets for the double bed are in the large closet in the living room. There is also a small dining table with two chairs in the main living space. There is a four hook coat rack installed on the wall near the bathroom. The only light for the living room is a floor lamp located to the right of the couch. A box fan for added airflow can be found in the living room closet.
