"This is a beautiful old building in the very centre of Buxton, a historical spa town that pleasantly surprised me.
While the hotel reception and hallways could definitely use some new carpet and renovation, the staff was very friendly, the buffet breakfast was very good, the bedrooms were large, and two out of the three bedrooms that we booked were freshly renovated.
The two renovated bedrooms were on the first floor, whereas we stayed on the second floor. While the 2nd floor bedroom was older and ready for an update, it was very large, clean, and comfortable and I have to say that the bed was extremely comfortable.
Overall, for the cost of this hotel with a full English breakfast buffet included, it was definitely worth the money. I would certainly stay there again, but I would ask for a bedroom on the first floor."
