About this property
2 Bed in Ashbourne (oc-80458)
An idyllic cottage located on the lower end of the Peak District National Park, one of the UK's most breathtaking National Parks, the cottage offers guests a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside. The nearby village of Parwich has been voted one of the best places to live in Britain. Keen walkers will relish the excellent hiking routes across nearby Dovedale. For those looking for a touch of English elegance, the nearby country houses of Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall and Tissington Hall are just a short drive away. For a wet and wild day out, head to Carsington Water with it's array of water sports.
The cottage is approached down a long private tree-lined driveway, head up and park your vehicle and take in the rural surroundings. Step inside the cosy cottage which has a unique eclectic style of rustic charm and scandi touches yet is crammed with character and original features. Enter inside the utility/boot room that houses the washing machine, this is the perfect place to leave behind coats and boots before heading through to the kitchen/diner. The kitchen provides a fusion of stylish and timeless quality finishes with everything you need to rustle up a feast including an electric oven, electric hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher . The cupboards are fully equipped with everything you'll need for your stay. The lounge connects to the kitchen, take your pick from the large comfy sofa or relaxing armchairs and settle down to catch a movie on the TV. You will experience plenty of the hygge factor in here with its soft lighting and the crackle of wood on the fire. Completing the downstairs accommodation is the bathroom with walk in shower, plunge bath and WC, just what you need to relax after a long day exploring. Upstairs are two bedrooms both with their own individual style. The king-size bedroom with deep coloured walls provides a truly relaxing environment to start your peaceful nights sleep. The second bedroom with its neutral tones has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed which can also be made as a twin on request. The owners aim to reduce their carbon footprint by providing low energy lighting, furnishing with some pre-loved and UK made items and appliances with good energy ratings. Eco credentials also include some of the electricity to the property provided by solar panels, with the remainder sourced from an energy supplier which uses 100% renewable sources.
Outside guests can spend time in the enclosed garden with outdoor furniture, ideal for summer BBQs and enjoying the open views of the farmland. Also, perfect for peace and quiet if you need to retreat away to read a book with your morning coffee. Beyond the gardens, guests are more than welcome to walk around the grounds and meet the local wildlife.
