"Property was nice enough however we ended up with a group of young men and women yelling and “whooping” through the halls in the early hours of the morning, slamming their doors, generally being really noisy - likely still wound up from one of the wedding receptions I’m assuming. We got very little sleep. Hotels need to do a much better job of not placing regular guests on the same floors as sports tournament teams or event guests, because clearly people have lost any sense of respect for others. Hotel front desk offered nothing in response to our displeasure. Likely won’t be back for the cost."

"The owners were hard to understand but honest and kind. They asked how is everything. The building is old but we'll maintained and clean. The first night I could hear music through the walls during the early morning. Nice walk to the swing bridge. Twenty minute drive to muskrat lake which is great for kayaking. Near dirt trails good for walking, off road vehicles and skiing in the winter. Nice diner nearby that has an oldies music theme"

"The whole property was 'TIRED'. First think noticed, was no automatic/accessible button to open doors. Difficult to manage luggage and hold door open. Sign in was good. Room was big. Bathtub had hair in it. Tile grout was dark and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. No comfortable chair. Only one at desk. Huge vacant space available for chair or table. Black out drapery was torn. TV reception was not clear at all. We had a supposedly 'Executive Room'. It sure did not seem so!! Parking was good. We enjoyed and delightful meal at the attached restaurant. We had planned to also have breakfast there. Was supposed to be open at 7:00 AM. It was closed before we got there at 9:00 AM. Overall, not a very good experience!!"

"I stay in a lot of hotels and I’ve never written a review or walked out on a stay before this experience. It was so bad that we handed the key back and didn’t stay. Where do I begin? The smells (like cat urine), the drywall mud patches on the walls, dirty, terrible. I’ve been in touring bands for years, toured all over Canada and the USA (even oilpatch Alberta) and I’ve never seen a property this run down in my life. The owners refusal to refund my money or even offer explanation is wild. VRBO is refusing to help as well as Expedia passing the buck two and fro. You will get the runaround. This property is so desperate for your money that you will not get it back. Do not book this property. After speaking to some locals, we found out that the city of Renfrew pays this… “establishment” to put up the city’s addicts and unhoused for the winter. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have kids or you want to stay married. Had to book another hotel at extortion prices and lose my investment as well. AVOID."
