Great Deck
Enjoyed dinner on the patio with the great Forrest all around. The beds were comfy and the showers were awesome. The house had everything we needed. Definitely would stay here again.
We liked the cabin. It was well supplied/equipped, the local team was readily available. It is about a 35min drive to Bear Valley - we would book again.

4th time visiting Arnold
This cabin was nice and comfortable, except it was a little too warm. Loved the loft and especially the king sized bed. We enjoyed the outside deck in the evening.
We loved our stay at this cabin! Used to visit Blue Lake Springs as a kid and was wonderful to share with my kiddos! The Stiles cabin was so cozy and charming! Loved seeing the pics on the walls of the building process! Overall we loved our stay and can’t wait to return in winter to visit Bear Valley to ski!

Great cabin
This was our second time staying at this cabin. Very cozy and the perfect size for our family. The kids loved the rope swing and hiking down to the creek. Has everything you need for a quiet getaway surrounded by forest. Close enough to town, quick drive to Calavaras and the beautiful scenic ride to Bear Valley.

Mountain cabin
Great back deck looking over miles of forest. 3 cozy bedrooms. The driveway entrance was terrifying.
We stayed there for a few nights and had a great time. The cabin was clean, and spacious. The view from the deck was awesome and he grill made the experience even better. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows very soft. The only thing to complaint about is the downstairs shower and sink don't drain properly and it needs fixing. Other than that our experience was very good and will be staying there again.

Nice cozy cabin in beautiful area
I loved this cabin. It’s got a very warm wooden feel to it. I loved the fireplace. The kitchen was easy to use.
The driveway is quite steep and I can’t imagine how anyone could drive up it when there’s snow or ice on it. Thankfully, the snow had mostly melted at that elevation when I arrived. But a short drive up the mountains towards Bear Valley provided lots of snow to enjoy.

Nice little cabin next to Calaveras Big Trees
I visited for a quick retreat, and picked this cabin because of its proximity to Calaveras Big Trees State Park. The cabin is as-described: good kitchen, comfortable beds, nice views. If you stay here, check out the South Grove trail, it's the best in the park (and it you're here for multiple days, save that trail for last).
I am very glad I read the reviews. I saw another reviewer's warning about the driveway. If you rent here, arrive before dark, seriously. I got in fine because I came in the afternoon, but navigating this Z-shaped driveway after dark would have been dicey. A photo of it in the ad would be nice.
All in all, a quiet, clean, well-appointed space in one of the prettiest spots in California! Had a nice time.
Great location near Arnold and Calavaras Big Trees. The cabin was set up well, the beds were very comfortable and showers worked great. Both the kitchen, bathrooms were clean upon arrival. However, I felt overall the cabin needs a very deep cleaning. I didn’t notice any smells, but there were so many items in the cabin that needed dusting. There was a thick layer of dust on top of the microwave under various items. I dropped an egg on the kitchen floor, the paper towel I used to clean came up filthy. The upstairs floor boards are really squeaky as well as the outside deck. As many have noted, the driveway is very scary. You can enter the driveway at the previous house number and this will take you parallel to the road straight into the driveway, still narrow but easier.

Cozy Time
While parking was challenging, the coziness of the cabin made up for this.
Overall a lovely location - love the interior and the deck. We had a small pest issue the night we arrived, plus there were a couple random cleaning issues (puzzle pieces under one bed!). The management was quick to respond. One FYI is that there's a sharp left turn left from the driveway into the parking strip. It was scary and difficult to do in the dark. If you have great 4WD or are used to tight turns on an incline, it may not be an issue. Look in the guests binder for a cute hand-drawn surprise.
The overall cleanliness of the cabin was great, but there were a couple of things we noticed during our stay: The smoke detector in the kitchen did not have a battery in it and beeped every 40 seconds as a result; Some of the lighting fixtures were either inoperable or powered off entirely, which made it difficult to navigate the cabin at night; the drain in the downstairs shower was backed up, causing the water to pool in the pan, and; the skylight in the upstairs bathroom was unable to fully shut, which allowed various insects to enter the interior (not the biggest deal, but we figured the owners might like to know).

Winter stay
The place is perfect for a week end get away. Everything we needed and felt clean and comfortable. Only issue was the broken toilet seat and the drive was difficult to access.
Loved this property and how well stocked it was for a family. So many toys and games for kids as well as some nice extras like a high chair, stroller and baby bath tub. Note a pack and play was listed but there wasn’t one on premises - fortunately we brought our own. Would definitely stay here again - thank you!
What a wonderful little cabin. Beds are comfy and warm. Very clean and tidy. If I owned this cabin I would update the living room furniture and have safer chairs at the table.
Games and puzzles missing pieces, time to update the games.
These are all very simple fixes.
We will return none the less.
Cabin itself is cute and access to HOA pool for fee made it ok BUT… the furniture is filthy, the cabin was dirty, sheets dirty, in summer the cabin is VERY warm, the driveway was super steep requiring you to back into it to insure you can get out, outside area isn’t kept up (random stuff like shovels/sleds/tarps/coolers/dirty rug/ dog poop/ random furniture/ sketchy stuff no unsafe stairs, etc.).
If your expectations are set accordingly you can enjoy the cabin.

Stiles Hideaway- Arnold
Nice outdoor deck surrounded by trees. Disappointed in accomodations i.e. propane for BBQing low to empty when tried to cook the first night and grill dirty and not been cleaned, outdoor furniture cushions old, dirty, worn, torn. Spent over an hour upon arrival taking all outdoor covers off and setting up outdoor furinture to be able to enjoy the deck. We were surprised that this was not set up for a planned arrival. Glad I brought beach towels- we used to cover the cushions to sit on. Disappointed with the cleaniness of the Indoor carpet- it had multiple dark stains- looked like pet accident stains, rocking chair arms dirty and old, couch dirty, pet hair. Ironic that the sign at the door requests you to remove your shoes indoors. We didn't feel comfortable NOT to wear shoes on carpets. Kitchen, bathrooms, linens, towels very clean. The empty propane tank replaced the 2nd afternoon upon request. Driveway to property is very narrow with careful parking and backing up. We were glad we came in summer as this would be hazardous during the winter if there was snow and ice. We spent most of all our time on the outdoor deck, which was quiet and serene with exception of loud distance music played by neighbors on Saturday night.
Overall, we made the best of it and enjoyed the trees, but we would not go back for the expense of the rental.
