"The AC in the conservatory where we held the wedding ceremony and meal was wholly inadequate. It was 27c outside and at least that inside. The main problem was underspecified AC units ( there were only 2 - probably needed 6). There was no roof blinds to shade us from the afternoon sun, so the venue got hotter and hotter. As a result the experience was very uncomfortable - inexcusable really as the Hotel Management must have always know this was a problem in the hot summers from previous years. The hotel did put out 2 domestic fans to help move the air, but with a wedding party of c60, it was about as useful as a chocolate tea pot. On the +ve, the venue was lovely, the grounds immaculate, staff friendly and attentive and the food excellent for what was a mass catering event. However, anything above 24c outside and that conservatory (the main dining / wedding venue) will become unbearably hot."

"On arrival, the hotel is nothing short of spectacular. We booked it for the scenery and the amenities and they didn’t disappoint. The room, however, was disappointing. There are 3 separate buildings you could be put in, not just the main cover photo building. There seems to be a building designed with business stays in mind which I am sure is practical for that purpose. However, as we were there for a leisure stay, I was quite disappointed to be put in that building as it was lacking personality and had a very prison-like layout (if you have been in one then you will understand what I mean). I have attached a picture for reference. There was no air con in the room and no fridge either which I was surprised at, and the window overlooked a roof that staff were working on so it compromised any sort of privacy. It was a very bittersweet stay but I suppose you get what you pay for as the prices were good."
