"Everything you expect from an old building was there. quirky and a bit flaky in places but loved staying there. breakfast was banging, parking was easy even for a large car. we will be back again soon. "

"The staff at the hotel were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and met our needs. The breakfast menu was excellent and food came hot and nicely prepared. Overall a very good hotel, would recommend."

"Lodge Vista 84 needs cleaning as very grubby and dusty, fridge smells and needs defrosting asap oven has no temp marks so you can’t cook anything. Bathroom mouldy and limescale needs addressing!! Hot tub tube like a warm baht overall dilapidated-and in need of refurb sgame the pictures doesn’t show that before you book it!!"

"The room was spotless, I don't think I've ever slept in a more comfortable bed, in fact I will be buying some of the pillows. We didn't eat so can't comment on food but we had a great stay and will definitely go back"

"Surprised we were given a room with a disabled bathroom but glad we didn't have stairs to climb as we are OAPs. Room was clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Disappointed with breakfast. We opted for continental breakfast. Regardless of arriving just after 8.30am, there was little choice and quantity available. We noticed other guests who were waiting for hot food had already taken large quantities of the continental choices, to be consumed as a second course. Regardless of being entitled to all the food on offer, it seemed rather greedy to deprive other guests. Maybe more food should be provided. The coffee and milk flasks were difficult to use. Had to ask for help from another guest as no staff around. Toaster was ineffective as toast was hardly brown. Very disappointed and left the table hungry. "

"Parking very good with locked gate at night. It overlooks the river. Breakfast good with great choice."

"Hotel is lovely with a great setting on the river, staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was first class, as was the Evening meal, did feel that the tables in the restaurant were a bit dated so a cloth to cover the table would have made it look so much nicer, I appreciate that the building is very old and had I known how noisy it was going to be I would have asked for an upstairs room, you could hear every step because the floorboards were very creaky and none of room doors had a soft close mechanism so there was constant door banging, it would also have been helpful if all guests could be reminded to be considerate by keeping the noise down when returning to there rooms late at night on the information sheet in the room. Having said all that it is a beautiful place in a great location and I will definitely be returning in a few months. Thank you "

"Easy parking with plenty of bays"

"disabled parking 2 very small spaces in an enclosed courtyard quite tight .hot tub was out of order. lots of steps as well as the mentioned creaky wooden stairs. check-in is right opposite the swimming pool entrance in the same aera as club entrance so wet & slippy floor and crowded blocking access. room was drab and dated empty for the size .noise level of neighbours and any movement in hallway echoed. bed was very uncomfortable lumpy. shower didn't drain and overflowed. wooden toilet seat that pushed flush button when seated."
